Hi all, this is where I will be posting updates of my current project, a crusade based imperial force with various opposition armies along the way. I am a bit of a hobby butterfly and therefore tend to have quite a lot of things in progress at any time, and tend to be quite slow as well, so please bear with me!
I aim for table top standard, basic highlights and shading, nothing too fancy!

So far my force is made up of:
Almost a full company of Dark Angels with Deathwing and Ravenwing support
Several Platoons of Imperial Guard of my own regiment including armour
A few sisters of battle in dire need of repainting
A couple of inquisitors

And against them I have a small force of orks

I am just putting the finishing touches to a Scion platoon for my Guard, based around The Black Watch regiment in the Napoleonic Wars.

After this, my next project will be the contents from Execution Force

I'm definitely a fan of Napoleonic imagery for 40k.

I think you might need more light for you photographs. I'd love to see a brighter/clearer shot.

Not where I should be

Well that's an impressive start.

Thanks guys :-) I be taken a few more shots this morning, which are now definitely brighter but still not great pics, damn Scottish winter sun isn't great for pictures!

As mentioned in my first post above my next project is the Execution Force set. I've already decided that the chaos forces will be painted in Word Bearer colours, and the sorceror Lord will be a custom build as I don't like the stock model, but I can't decide what to do with the assassins. Should I stick with GW black? Try a dark blue I've seen on the net? Or should I do a more up to date version of the old scheme I used for my metal Eversor (as seen below) many, many years ago? Opinions/suggestions very welcome!

I'm going to try dig out my decent camera so hopefully picture quality will improve!

Love how the white plates look over the red. That definitely gives the same impression as the white straps on Napoleonic soldiers. And the drab basing totally makes the bright colours of the uniform pop.

Awesome stuff

Thanks MattofWar :-)

I've been working on the assassins, settling on a dark blue scheme with red weapons/details, to link in with my Dark Angels red weapons and because it reminds me of old school 2nd edition .

Little (crappy) WIP of the calidus, not too sure of the blade effects?

Thanks guys :-) The Highlanders were definitely a labour of love, but I'm really happy with how they turned out :-)
I managed to get a bit more done today while the daughter was napping. A few more highlights/details and finish off the bases and I think I can call these guys done....
