I just got the 'Start Collecting' Astra Militarum box as well as a few other AM models, and the box comes with a formation called Armoured Shield and its requirements are 1 Officio Perfectus Commissar, 1 Infantry Squad, 1 Leman Russ.
Now on top of those models I also have a Company Command Squad, another Infantry Squad, and a Squad of Militarium Tempestus Scions.
Normally I would field it as:
HQ
Company Command Squad
Lord Commissar/(floating) Commissar
Troops
2x Veteran Squads
Elites:
Scions
Heavy:
Leman Russ
So the question is, how can I work around the Armored Shield Formation so that I can also field my other units? Or do I have to just get another Troop choice?

Can't take an Allied Detachment of the same Faction as the Primary Detachment.
Unbound is an answer, otherwise, another Troop to fill a Combined Arms Detachment.
