Privateer press 2016 narrative league will focus on named, and presumably upgradeable platoons.

Cygnars 'saints of corvis' (trenchers and gun mages) all start with gunfighter for example.

While I have the Cryx all ready, I'm on my skorne rotation...and don't own the blood runners or master tormentors.

The temptation to buy them is strong (I want to make a Hit Squad list anyway), but I'm holding off for now.

Regardless, I love the idea of this league.

This is the one that you don't use a warcaster right?

Unless the Protectorate stuff gets Stealth or something there is no way they can handle all the shooting the other groups have.

Using the group has certain bonuses, and I think they'll be able to get experience and new skills like previous leagues.

I think you can run the group on their own or in a regular game, but they form their own little chunk.

Correct. The "Companies of Iron" are a selection of units and solos without a Warcaster/Warlock to lead them. It's a new League to fill the gap from the ending of the last league to the new league that will be starting after Lock and Load.

It's a short league- but no details how long that means, or when it will start. "Soon".

Other details: You will be able to make a platoon of whatever models you want, or you can use the "Companies of Iron"- select units and solos that grant special bonuses to your platoon. As the League progresses, the platoons will change/grow and new Companies of Iron will be added.
