so with this wulfen campaign and everything dropping, are the demons getting a full on new codex or just an update to their old one? I'm trying to help a buddy who's new to the game and playing demons figure this all out. I appreciate all the insight I can get, thank you.

Demons get new formations in from the new book. As far as rumors go very little chaos is on the radar for this year.

From what the rumors look like, it's just the current Chaos Daemons codex with the updated unit profiles, like the three flavours of Blood Thirsters, the profile for the Exalted Flamer as a Herald Choice, Be'Lakor, and so on. As well as the decurion from Warzone: Fenris.
