I intend to have this thread as a place where I can collect fluff I write about the Iron Wolves.
So, I want to play Space Wolves and use Space Wolves-specific models but I don't want to use the Space Wolves colour scheme, and since they can't have successor chapters, how do I do something like this without breaking the fluff? Here's a
TL;
DW (too long, didn't write) of their fluff:
They were founded in the 13th founding. No one knows what chapter they are successors to. Their homeplanet is flooded with thousands of Chaos Marines and Cultists, and after losing over 700 men the chapter master is sadly enough forced to call in Exterminatus, killing him and all the Marines that didn't evacuate in time. The 200 Marines left are stranded in space before being found by Ragnar Blackmanes great company. They (haven't come up with a pre-exterminatus name) followed Ragnar around and with his help started rebuilding the chapter.
Since they spent hundreds of years in the company of Space Wolves they abandoned the Codex Astartes and started organising themselves as such. This, plus the fact that their homeplanet was filled with chaos is the reason the Dark Angels and Grey Knights are hunting them.
The 200 Marines who survived the Exterminatus, now whittled down to a hundred formed the Wolf Guard and the Thunderwolves. The leader of the former 2nd battle-company (doesn't have a name yet) is now the Wolf Lord. They have taken the tribal planet of Yggdrasil as homeplanet, and with help from both the Space Wolves and other excommunicated chapters they have started recruiting new soldiers. Much of their wargear comes from the Forge World
Asgard EXCOMMUNICATE TRAITORIS who believe that the Omnissiah is actually the As-god Heiimdall, the defender of mankind.
With a force of around 400 Marines, the Ironwolves travel on a hunt to rid the universe of Chaos, returning once every ten years to collect new Blood Claws. But, they are not the only ones hunting. Many Astartes consider them to be traitors and seek to destroy them. The Wulfen have started appearing in closer and closer proximity to their fleet, leading the Inquisition to believe they are using the Warp as a weapon to bring down the Imperium.
Any thoughts? Ideas? I'm not the best at writing freehand like this, I apologize for poor grammar and/or spelling.
