As long as you havbe the required number of compulsory troop choices, as support squads don't count iirc (also don't have my books on hand to look up that rite though).

As I read it, you could only use one dreadclaw filled with dudes as you are limited to three units in the hidden blade and the support squads would count against this limit too.
Edit: Okay it seems you would have to fill them with elite or FA units
