Same. These young'uns with their Discords and The Facebooks. What ever happened to just mailing out your moves for the next turn and waiting a fortnight for their response.
Only slightly kidding as I am old as and don't get Discord.

And yeah, Discord and Facebook are just less user friendly but sadly more popular 'limited' forum type places...I don't like them for these types of things either.

Another update:-
Greetings from The Engine.
It is time for the December update (I'm doing my best to at least do one a month, so two months in a row...off to an OK start).
In this months news, we'll start with the fact that Ben loves to poke The Engine for info over on the Twisted Talk Discord...it could be why The Engine hates him, but doubtful, however he was successful in uncovering quite a few things...starting with a sneak at a new mini. I won't put Ben's questions or suggestions up, just the answers:
Hmmm....let's see what we can do here. Some kule new mini's, how about Ahab?
While he won't be part of the campaign...he's definitely going to be sailing into port shortly after we get it fulfilled, I'll do my best to keep he and his crew away from any sort of crowdfunding campaign.
Image 1 - (As FB won't allow inline photos, they'll be in order, and yes I know this one is low res...it's probably on purpose)
BGM's? (big gribbly monsters) Yes, most definitely, the Monstrous Marvels are phenomenal, but BGM's will be 50-60mm...doubt they'll go beyond a 60mm as an 80 is a huuuuge base, did that with Dark Age, Relic Knights and Wrath of Kings...they're tough to fill.
Themed Companies haven't quit been finalized yet, but let's say you decide to build a Scotland Yard Bobby's Blitz list, ya know Abberline, Clark and a bunch of the wheeled fellows (they seem to be all the rage here), grab their company card and get bonuses...what kind of bonuses I hear you asking? Well, could be all sorts of things. Gang up bonuses, movement bonuses, stacking bonuses...all sorts of stuff...but, it'll cost ya.
A themed company will have an associated card with all the trimmings, including a points cost.
Tokens...I'm technically not supposed to show them yet, as I'm waiting for studio photos' but here's a small sample:
Image 2
Campaign/Lore book? Hmm...let's see, what can I say about the T2E book? For the campaign, expect a massive tomb, it's definitely not going to be for everyone. I am planning on a coffee table style stunning work of art.
I love books. LOVE THEM. The rules and cards will always be online for free. The next book will have thousands upon thousands of words of expanded lore, story and narrative. Here's a little sample of that too:
Vinnie burst out laughing. “Lookit the pair on you.” He aimed the shotgun at Marvin’s chest.
“‘Tis a modest sum. And killing me will do you no good.”
Vinnie pressed Hatchett’s barrel against Marvin’s left leg. “Don’t hafta kill you.” He leaned in. “And you owe me.”
Marvin inhaled sharply and pressed himself against the wall.
“But,” said Vinnie, “I’m feelin’ generous.” He produced a five pound note and slapped it against Marvin’s chest. “A fiver, and you’ll fank me for it.”
Pete and I are also hard at work at completing as many of the original KS community ideas as possible, one of them being the art book, it'll be available to all as a PDF, but will also go into the tomb.
We've also started work on a unique set of campaign rules allowing you to build your own company and take them from rags to riches as you work through a series of custom campaign games or create your own.
Image 3
I don't have a final design on cards nailed down yet, and this is from me just not sitting down and tackling it yet.
As for an easy buy in for new players, no question. As I said, rules and cards will always be available on the website for all.
One of the updates that we're working on is resetting the 'starters'. The intro games will be set at 100 points and the new starters will all be 'Company' bases, so expect to see theme's as well as proper intro forces in them, with recommended pathways for the next game size (currently 250) and the final game size (currently 400).
The new Company boxes will run $40-50 USD retail, and as long as my international production plans come through, you should see local pricing in the same vein without international shipping tacked on (this is in the works though and isn't going to be the easiest of solutions, so I beg y'all to have patience with me on this).
Expect to see new art (Pete has been going nutz with new concepts, and I've even dusted off my pencils). I want to have returning artists, new artists for both print and sculpture.
And finally Samuel and myself have been meeting weekly to layout all the various plot lines that will get flushed out, drive the core story in a forward moving direction and flush out a large number of our characters and their own motivations.
One final simple message. Know that I am super grateful to you all, and Pete, Sam and myself are super stoked to bring you new material, but I do ask that you keep in mind, we're just a few chaps making this happen in our spare time around the full time jobs and families we have, so if we're slow on the updates, or miss a question or comment, just give us a friendly little nudge.
Oh...and of course the ever necessary caveat.
*nothing here is final, all the things are subject to the whims of The Engine and may change.
I did also answer a few questions as well, so if you haven't joined the Twisted Talk Discord, ya should - zbUQtuvDS2
Until next time...remember...
The Engine knows all
Going to need to see a much better picture of any new minis first, but Ahab does look like he matches up well with the existing range.

The latest update (I suspect not all their updates make it on to Facebook):-
Greetings from the Engine,
The time has come for the March update. Normally I plan to do the monthly updates mid-month, but with AdeptiCon next week, I had to hold this one for confirmation on a couple of things, now, as you can all know from the simple photo updates for January (a teaser to be revealed below) and February’s updates, I have been a bit lax in revealing any fruitful information. There are two reasons for this, first as I stated above, needed confirmation on a couple items, and the biggest reason is AdeptiCon prep, having to build multiple tables, paint models and prep for a show.
Now on to this month's update. First off, how about another character sneak peek collage?
For those going to AdeptiCon, you can find me at booth 501, stop by, say hello and ask for a sticker! We will have a demo table set up and Servant Shaun will be running demo’s throughout the event. ‘What about models?’ I hear someone say…well those will be available at the Wyrm Forge booth, number 601. Yea I know, it’s odd, but our pals over at Wyrm Forge/Smokey Raven were able to pull together a last minute miracle and get new metal spun up and will be bringing it with them and after a few discussions, it’ll be easier on both parties to have product sales in their booth.
On top of having models at AdeptiCon, I have also been able to confirm that the wonderful team over at Warsenal will have a limited number of acrylic tokens in hand for me, these are not limited edition, but will be in short supply at the show, they will be available online shortly after, so if you can’t make it and would like a set, don’t panic, we’ll get you sorted. There will be two different sets, Tokens and Templates, retail pricing will be updated in next months update.
And last but not least for AdeptiCon this year, our great friend Alex over at Mats by Mars has created not one, but TWO playmats for those of you who love to have a quick and easy way to layout a table. If you’re not familiar with MBM, I highly recommend jumping onto their website and taking a look. They have a very unique product, that is pretty much indestructible…will unless you light it on fire or shoot at it…but don’t do that.
I know many of you have questions about the upcoming crowdfunding campaign. To start, I have a meeting with the crew from Gamefound at AdeptiCon, so will have all the information I need from them to get things set up. While I have a lot of experience with the Kickstarter platform, I do have some specific questions for this team and will obviously get them sorted next week. While I don’t have a launch date just yet, I hope to have that information for you all in next month's update.
Some of the things you can expect to see in this campaign, a pair of new Company’s. We’ll see The Orphanage for the Dickensians matched up against The Luddites from the Servants. We’ll also see The Journeyman come to the fore as the first true mercenary company in the game. There’s another Company or two that will be revealed during the campaign along with a number of characters to add to your favorite factions. There will also be more news about Twisted Second Edition (T2E), what Pete and I are working into the book, new and updated rules, including a new campaign system and solo play options, revised Company building as well as addressing any FAQ and balance issues uncovered by the community.
As I’ve said before, there are extensive plans in place for providing a deep and expanded narrative for all of your favorite characters…well maybe not all of them, but probably most of them, along with a good bit of backstory for the new players.
We’ve partnered with Journeyman to not only bring the first Mercenary Company, The Journeymen to Twisted, but to also create a line of 75mm collectors models for those who love the creative side of the hobby. We’ll have the first couple of models ready for the crowdfunding campaign at a special price for those who want to get in on them early. The line will be a part of Journeyman’s regular releases and will grow as we grow.
To close out this update, I have one final announcement. As I have taken on the mantle of the Speaker of the Engine, there is something highly important The Engine has instructed Pete and I to do and share. A new task if you will. The awarding of a gift to a member of our esteemed community.
The Elevation of The Engine.
Every year going forward, the week before AdeptiCon, we will announce the recipient of The Elevation of The Engine. The Elevation will be awarded to an individual of the Twisted community someone who shows dedication to The Engine and who embodies the heart and soul of the community, helping it grow through contributions, engagement and helping create a positive experience for all of us.
The first of our Twisted community to Elevated by The Engine is the illustrious William ‘Mac’ McClelland.
Mac will receive a custom print of his artwork, we will sculpt a model and create an in-game personality for him. Mac will be able to choose which faction he will join. Pete and I will work with Mac to refine his character's abilities and Sam and I will work with Mac to create his in-game persona and backstory.
Dickensians and Servants, Scions and Guild members, we happily present to you Sir Mac McLelland:
Sadly, I probably won't be able to back the Kickstarter when I launches, but I'm looking forward to seeing the new minis.

Aprils update:-
Greetings from The Engine,
Now that I’ve had a chance to catch up with the personal life (my wife requires a catch up week for her and then I get to get caught up on the house stuff) after two solid months of final prep and a week in Milwaukee at the greatest miniature convention on the planet, ADEPTICON!!! It's time for the April update.
As March’s update was pretty substantial in regard to what was shown, shared and presented at AdeptiCon, the April update will be a bit shorter with a quick AdeptiCon recap and a look ahead at some of what you can expect to see in the crowdfunding campaign.
AdeptiCon 2025!!!
So, for those of you who missed the news, I’m terrible at two things…social media and taking photos. Being a kid of the 80’s…I learned to hate photo day and all things camera and sadly that has just turned into…’oh damn, I forgot I have a camera in my pocket and didn’t take any pictures’, so I have nothing to show of the greatest gaming week of the year…like seriously, nothing, not even a selfie or me and some random other game developer I’ve known for 20 years. I’m ashamed.
Now, heading into AdeptiCon, I was only expecting to have a demo table and demo models to show off, however our friends over at Wyrm Forge/Smokey Raven showed up with stock in hand. Adrian really kicked it into overdrive and surprised me with this. It was fantastic to see new metal cast up and blistered, ready to be picked up and put into play! Due to Adrian beating the planned website update, you can pick up stock from his website until I have completed updating the DG site, that link for y’all:
www.smokeyraven.com
Throughout the weekend, the buzz and feedback was consistent and extremely positive, with many long time fans excited to see the world of Twisted returning and many new fans experiencing the game for the first time. Shaun from Smokey Raven killed it at the demo table, showing many people the delight that is Twisted. Friday night I was invited to speak at the Geek Nation Tours dinner (mainly cause I was one of the sponsors) and Shaun crushed it once again giving demo’s after dinner. Whether new or long time fans, the news of Twisted return was very well received and created a great deal of conversation for myself and the Smokey Raven team. I also personally spoke to a number of developers who expressed more than a little bit of excitement at Twisted return throughout the weekend as well. For not having anything beyond a demo table and a full rack of stock, I and the team were extremely happy with how the weekend went.
Onto some of what's coming for T2E…we’ll start with the Crowdfunding campaign…
While this isn’t a complete list, and obviously a number of details are missing as The Engine likes to reveal all things when it feels like it, we can at least give you a glimpse into the near-ish future. Pete and I are working fervently to get this campaign up asap!!
To start there will be two new companies;
The Dickensians will see The Orphanage open up, led by The Beedle and his lovely wife The Matron, this Company is Nancy’s little ‘pet project’.
The Servants will also see a new Company by way of The Inquisition, led by the Fanatical Puritan Bernardo Gui.
The campaign will also bring in two new factions - The Queen’s Court and Mercenaries, each with two companies to start.
As I’ve stated in the past, there will be a book…a Limited Edition Book, this will be a Large Collectors Tomb - limited in print to 500 most likely as the price will be hefty. What can you expect in this massive Collection of Ozsome?
New Rules
-Solo-play
-The Nameless Campaign (build your own Company)
-Company Theme Rules
-New schools of Alchemancy
-Faction updates
Existing rules will get updated (FAQ/Errata- send in those feedback notes (Discord is a great place for this)
Some characters will get updated version…2nd level if you will
Lore…lots of lore…over 20 stories of various sizes planned for the book, along with half dozen or more beforehand to be added to the lore section of the new website.
As shown in March there will also be a collection of Partner products, some of these will be available during the campaign, some will not.
JourneymanMiniatures - Crossover models - 75mm versions of some of your favorites…but crossovers go both ways, so expect to see 32mm versions of Tim’s models enter the fray! - A number of these will be available during the campaign.
Warsenal - tokens and templates in printed acrylic. Working to confirm campaign availability.
Mats by Mars - Tabletop gaming mats. Working to confirm.
Avante Art World (formerly Scale75 US) Faction Paint Sets. Working to confirm final agreement (time constraints here).
Stormcrow Scenery (not official, just endorsed by Demented Games) - not available during the campaign, but will be highly featured in the T2E book and website.
We’re still working on a few more things, but I can say that most of the concept art is complete, Pete has been busting his tail on getting things done, and a large number of the models for the new Companies for the existing Factions are sculpted, with the Companies for the new Factions having quite a few models either completed or in process.
That’s all for now! Until next time…may The Engine always be in your favor*
*unless your name is Ben…sorry Ben.
Steampunk Inquisition sound snazzy!

Another update, they're getting there, very slowly:-
Greetings from The Engine,
On this final day of August, we bring an update. The team continues to plug away at T2E. Concept art for a number of the new Company’s is complete or close to it, including the first of the Companies for the Queen’s Court and The Journeyman. Concepts continue onto colored artwork which is then used for sculpting models. We do have a number of models that are complete and ready to go, but a lot of them are in the queue to get done.
I’ve completed first drafts for a five part series for the Agents of Oz along with a number of initial drafts for Indigo and Horace’s next set of adventures (they’re heading down different paths that may well cross again). Three of the six prelude stories have been through first draft revision, these are the stories that will see release on the new website as build up to and through the crowdfunding campaign. Nouveau’s storyline is close to complete…and boy is it something, Sam has killed it here. We also see a couple other Servants stories either in first stages or into editing, and the Dickensians have a full list of work to be started. Each faction will see at least six individual stories drafted inside of this book, and the Guild is coming in currently at a hefty ten, but I did get carried away with Young Dorothy and the crew.
With the crowdfunding campaign closing in on us, let’s chat right quick about what to expect beyond what I’ve already teased, but I’ll recap that first.
New book - a combined tomb of all the current pdf’s edited and updated (no there will be no retcons), along with extensive new story for each current Faction along with the two new ones. New art, new look, new rules (solo play, The Nameless Campaign, Company Themes, New Schools of Alchemancy, Updated Faction Rules…probably more).
New card design - updated character cards, same stats, revised ability text, updated layout.
Acrylic tokens - acrylic token sets from Warsen.al
V2 characters - Elevated versions if you will…
Mats by Mars - These have been shown and should be available as add-ons, but still have to finalize that.
Journeyman Miniatures 75mm models - we’ve got the first six locked in and working on new artwork for them.
Now, what about these new Factions and Company’s you keep going on about? OK…here’s the breakdown…for most of them, gotta keep a few surprises for y’all.
The Dickensians will see a brand new pair of Company’s: The Orphanage and The Wailing Death
The Servants of the Engine will get a new Company and an update: The Inquisition and The XXXXXX
The Queen’s Court will see two brand new Company’s, one of which will be campaign and convention exclusive, along with an update: The XXXXX (the exclusive), The Commandos of the 100 Acres and The Scotland Yard Constabulary.
The Mercenaries will break onto the scene with The Journeyman
There’ll be plenty of other surprises in store for this campaign, and bear in mind if your favorite faction is not on this list, it will be one of the focuses for the next campaign, episodic releases will keep the team and I sane, and fulfillment as clean as we can make it.
My focus for this week is to get the mailing list set up and operating, once complete, we will begin pre-marketing and dropping these updates into a newsletter format as well. The new website is coming along and I hope to have some preview images to share in the next couple of weeks.
And finally, I am meeting my European production partner this week at the airport here in Atlanta, he literally scheduled a long layover on his return trip from ReaperCon so we can get some things finalized, so we should have news for Euro friendly production soon as well.
That’s all for this updates….kind of, two things, I’ll be dropping a poll in the next week with the names of a few of the stories for the community to vote on which one gets an open teaser drop, and here’s a sneak at the new Nail Wraif from The Wailing Death:
I do like the look of the Nail Wraif, it fits in with the existing Urkins while still being it's own thing.
