In April, my flgs is holding an itc event using their new missions. With that being said, it is going to be an extremely competitive environment and I want to win so that means the cheesiest, streamlined list possible. Here is what I have come up with. Let me know what you guys think.
CAD Eldar
HQ
Farseer - spirit stone, bike
Farseer - bike
Troops
Scattbike x3
Scattbike x3
Scattbike x3
Scattbike x3
Scattbike x2, shurikin catapult x1
Heavy support
Vaul's wraith D-cannon x3 w/ warlock leader
LoW
Wraithknight w/ heavy wraith cannons and 1x scatter laser (I was thinking about going with D-sword for this guy because my shooting is already really good and being able to melee D stuff out completely is really appealing.)
Formation
Riptide wing
Riptide - stims, ewo, HBC, SMS
Riptide - stims, ewo, HBC, SMS
Riptide - stims, ewo, IA, SMS
Inquisition detachment
Ordo xenos inquisitor w/ 3 servo skulls.
Comes out to 1849.

I wish I knew the in's and out's of the Tau codex but lets see... breaking down the list...
- The riptide wing is really good but are you getting the most out of them without markerlight support?
- Wraithknight with Ghostglaive and Scattershield is more preferable imho, the increased survivability and the amount of table control the melee variant offers is great
- I like the Farseers, but you may have limited returns with the amount of min sized units and you large riptide point sink is 'unbuffable'(outside of misfortune ot the like)
- Outside of having a lucky powers roll, you have alot of firepower but no ignores cover could really hamper you.
- the D platforms are nice but only really come into their own if they have a way to get them into range from the start of the game (such as infiltrate or scout)
- I like the servo skulls but a single inquisitor on his own is first strike bait no?
+ Really nice firepower
+ Interceptor
+ Good psykic defence
+ Jetbike Mobility
But those are just my concerns, how well placed they are (with a lack of Tau knowledge) is up to you

it's 4 detachments/formations but that might be allowed in ITC by this thursday.
EWO/Interceptor is not a viable option on bursttides unless you have markerlights
even normal shooting sucks without marker lights (your only hitting on 4s and your taking armor saves on 1s)

I aren't think that.

Agreed, tau shooting is actually pretty bad without marker support espeshially after your turn 1 or possibly turn 2 double fire round. All those burst tides need high bs to take advantage of all those rending shots.

@Toros
So the riptide wing is the exception to bad Tau shooting. The thing is really self sustainable. Yeah it would be nice to have ignores cover, but with weight the weight of fire it dishes out, ignores cove is really a win more. With regards to the inquisitor, I am really using him for the servo skulls. I would keep him in reserve for as long as possible. Ok I will run the D- sword, ranged D is nice, but since it is nerfed in ITC, it feels like it has diminishing returns. Getting doom power is pretty boss with the riptide wing also.
@Sheit27
I was thinking about splitting the D-cannons but, the whole reason I kept them together is because of the warlock leader and getting shrouded to give the unit a 2+ cover save in ruins.
@Epartalis
It is pretty bad with the exception of the riptide wing. This wing is really a "I want to erase that unit" type of thing and the BS buff it gets from the formation is more than enough to make up for the bad base BS. On average, I am getting 18 wounds from the burst cannons, and 3-4 of those being rending. Other than that, it is extremely hard for most armies to deal with because it's high mobility and high servivability. Most people will spend 2 turns trying to kill the riptides, fail and by then it is too late.
