Hey guys, I am planning an ork army and have put together a list. It is supposed to be competitive but not spammy. I have included models that I really like the look of and want to paint, such as the gorkanaut. Also, in my gaming group, we don't play formations or decurion style armies which is why you don't find any in here.

Ork CAD

HQ

warboss, mega armour, lucky stikk (goes in battle wagon with boyz)
big mek, kff, da fixer uppers, grot oiler (goes in gorkanaut)

Troops

16 boyz with heavy armour, boss nob, PK, bosspole (go in battle wagon)
10 gretchin, runtherder

Fast Attack

blitza bomber
blitza bomber

Heavy Support

battlewagon with reinforced ram
Gorkanaut with grot riggers

Great Waagh Detachment

HQ

Big Mek, mega forcefield, big bosspole, pk, bike (goes with bikers)

Troops

10 gretchin, 1 runtherder
10 gretchin, 1 runtherder

Elite

2 x meganobz with killsaws, 1 meganob in battlewagon with reinforced ram

Fast Attack

12 warbikers, 1 biker nob with PK,

As you can see, the bikers are fearless and will get a 4+ invuln save all being well. The other big mek keeps the gorkanaut alive which will hopefully draw a lot of fire.

The meganobz are my anti vehicle unit as well as being a hard HTH unit. The gretchin are distraction and pestering units that will also take objectives.

I love the blizza bomber and gorkanaut models which is why there in there but also I think they give the army a crazy mech flavour which is one of the attractions of the army to me.

This is an allcomers list.

I welcome any advice!

I havent got my hands pn the updated Ghazzy book, but if everything I read is correct it is a decuion only type list now. or formations from it. SO I believe if you took this it would become unbound.

Not positive on that though.

Whether W!G can CAD or not I have some comments on your list, since you want it to be competitive...

Big mek with KFF in Gorkanaut
He will be a very expensive mek, taking the fluffy Gorkanaut to an unreasonable high point cost. If it blows up he will be ready to charge out like a very angry ork and that's good fun. But not competitive. Also the KFF will only affect the gorkanaut, if covering nearby models was your idea.

Blitza Bommers
Good fun, but very unreliable. No doubt best again heavy infantry 2+ save models with no invul saves and no cover save.

MANZ in battlewagon
I like them alot, use mine all the time. I regretfully assembled mine with no kombi-skorchas - don't make that mistake. I use my MANZ in pairs because they will have their ride blown up and against a canny opponent a single MANZ mob will be gunned down or charged by a meanie or some such. I advice 2-3 units or some solid alternatives.

Big mek on bike with PK and MFF
May I suggest shelling out for a killsaw in place of PK. +5 points and very handy against dreadnoughts and other targets with thick armour.

12 warbikes
They will pour out a lot of dakka, in combat they won't be as tough. In a competitive list warbikes are usually the higharounds for a couple of warbosses, a painboy and a bigmek with MKK. You have a fair list so take none of that bar the bik mek.[/i]

Good luck out there.

With love from Denmark
