So, a few years ago, I got a Wii for Solstice (I don't celebrate Christmas). I also got some games too, but some time after I got the Wii, I downloaded a game called Tetris Party from the Wii Shop Channel. You can find out more about Tetris Party here.

For the record, yesterday, I played Tetris Party's Beginner Tetris mode, and I got a whopping 400 or so lines cleared, up to level 15, and a high score of 929,000 after playing for 15 minutes. That's the best I have ever done.

My favorite game in Tetris Party is multiplayer Hot Lines. This is when you play against 3 players controlled by the CPU, and try to clear shadows that are flashing green. Here is a picture.

And I hope to buy a Wii points card to download more games to the Wii (specifically, old Mario games on the Wii Shop Channel).

Setting all that aside, what games (if any) do you play on your Wii from the Wii Shop Channel?

Shovel knight, super metroid, metroid fusion, final fantasy tactics, the binding of Isaac, mega man x are the games I own and play regularly.

Honestly I've spent far more time playing these than I have any wiiu game.

Final fantasy tactics functions alot like a tabletop war game... in my opinion, it's an incredibly fun and fairly deep game, and if tabletop rules existed for it I would definitely be up for it.

Are these games from stores like Gamestop or from the Wii shop channel?

Some really, really good old school RPG games you can still get via credit card through the Wii's 'Virtual Console' feature;
- Final Fantasy II (regarded as one of the best all-time stories from within the franchise)

- Final Fantasy III (the franchise's single best villain of all time - Kefka!)

- Ogre Battle 64 (little known title, but it combines aspects of Final Fantasy Tactics with RTS style gaming, in a classical JRPG story)

Plus you can still get a lot of the main Wii titles through Gamestop, etc... for decent rates, such as Mario Kart 7, Smash Brothers Brawl, LoZ Twilight Princess, etc...

When it comes to current platforms, while the Wii U is good, Nintendo's better buy is the *New* 3DS XL system.
Just from January till now, we've already had/soon to have 3 major releases;
- Final Fantasy Explorers (a combination of Monster Hunter + classical Final Fantasy)

- Fire Emblem Fates (if you enjoy FF Tactics, Fire Emblem is literally it on freaking steroids!!)

- Hyrule Warriors Legends!! (Warriors style hack & slash, but Zelda'fied for superior bad arssery! )

And then this summer, we're getting Dragon Quest 7 3DS, plus confirmation that the all new Dragon Quest XI is being localised and should be out in time for Xmas/holiday season.

Plus there's the likes of Smash Brothers 4, Fantasy Life, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time + Majora's Mask HD editions, Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds, Fire Emblem Awakening...
And of course the million or so odd Pokémon titles if you're into that franchise!

And keep in mind that just like the Wii/Wii U systems, the 3DS also has a whole slew of downloadable titles from the eshop, though keep in mind that you're always better off getting the physical cart version of current games.

I've been umming and ahhing about getting a 3DS for a while, but it's come down to one thing: Harvest Moon. More specifically, Friends of Mineral Town, the first one I played and my favourite.

The 3DS has later Harvest Moon titles available, as well as Pokémon obviously, but for reasons unknown to anyone outside Nintendo, doesn't have access to old GBA games like FoMT. It has several earlier titles, as well as later ones, but not FomT or MFoMT. The Wii U, however, does have it on virtual console, but I can't justify buying a Wii U just for Harvest Moon. I have no interest in any other Wii U titles.

It's created a rather annoying point of limbo, where I don't really want to buy either of them, especially as there's been nothing said about GBA titles becoming available on the 3DS virtual store any time in the future.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
