Greetings dakkadakka!

Long time reader, first time poster.
I've been perpetually "getting into" the hobby for the last few years realistically. I like painting, never had the chance to really game until now I've moved towns. So I'm finally going to work towards painting up a game ready army and I'm looking for a little advice and I've got a few questions:

I'm starting a space wolves army, considering the new Curse of the Wolfen releases, what would be a good place to start? I managed to get hold of a Sanctus Reach box set on ebay for cheap so I have 5 Wolf Guard Terminators, 10 Grey Hunters/Blood Claws, and Krom Dragongaze to start. I'm guessing the new "Start Collecting" box is the next logical choice. Then perhaps a Rhino or Drop Pod?

Secondly, what is the best method of actually obtaining all (or at least the vast majority of) the rules for the models? I have a copy of the 7th edition 40k rule book from the starter sets I've picked up (Dark Vengeance). Sure I can grab the Warzone Fenris and Codex Space Wolves from GW or wherever, but is the Champions of Fenris rules included somewhere in there? As it seems the physical copy of Champions of Fenris is no longer being printed. Id get the digital editions but, which one has all the rules in one file? More to the point, every .mobi or .epub reader i have used makes the text come off the background image so it doesnt appear like it's on the page of a book. It's kinda hard to read stat lines or tables when it's wrapping around itself in a paragraph format :(. Also, I don't really wanna go spend $500 on an ipad, plus the cost of the rules just to have it work. Anyone else had this issue?

An issue that I could likely solve once I get the rule books, how would I best gear my grey hunters/terminators? Melta? Plasma? Bolter? Chainsword? Powerfist? Powerclaws? So many options and so many wolfy bits :S

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance <3.

If you want all the rules, formations and dataslates then you'll need to shell out for Codex: Space Wolves, Warzone Fenris AND Champions of Fenris. Sucks, I know...

Building on what you've got (assuming you buy the Start Collecting box) you would have a pretty solid little force. I'd get a couple of Drop Pods and try to find some meltagun bits. That would give you a force like this:

Wolf Lord (kitted out however you like)

5 Wolf Guard Terminators (kitted out however you like)

10 Grey Hunters with 2 melta guns in a Pod
9 Grey Hunters with a plasma gun in a Pod

3 Thunderwolf Cavalry with shields and 1 power fist/ thunderhammer
