In a recent trade, I came into possession of a pretty mangled ghost ark. All of the ribs have been cut off, and the pilot's cockpit is all messed up too. Not sure who was doing what with it, but it's pretty far gone. I was thinking I might be able to salvage it, but I think it's going to be more trouble than it's worth.

So, I'm looking at it and trying to figure out how to loot it. I prefer imperial vehicles to loot (IG especially!), but it seems a prime candidate. Thing is, I have no idea what to do with it. Maybe a chinork?

Anyone have any good ideas what ork vehicle to make out of a ghost ark?

it's probably about the size of a battlewagon, I suppose. I hardly ever use them anymore - I'm still sore about deffrollas.

If you want to loot it, loot it.

Give it as many gunz as possible.

INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!
PM me for an INSANE (100K+ points) if you desire.

Tricky... off the top of my head
- Use it upside down as armour on a Trukk
- casing for some super artillery piece
- Combine it with a trukk kit to make a battlewagon. Put it on backwards so it looks like a longship.
- Combine it with a dakkajet kit

Hrmm. the more I think about it, I think that maybe adding some walls to the sides, could make it like an ork pirate ship / battlewagon.

It's vaguely ship shaped already, and since it's a hovering vehicle it would make sense for some enterprising freebooterz to make it into a ship.

I've seen a couple of those, especially by ian wyatt on youtube, could be a fun projekt.

what about a hovering ork WW2 landing craft?
Flatten the top a bit, rivet some armour to the sides, a ramp at the front, add some jets or propellers and maybe a rudder digging into the ground for steering. Use it as a Trukk maybe

You need to change the "don't press dat" test to a "don't plug dat into your 'ed' test" if you are going for the looted wagon

Fluff-wise, the orks recovered a badly damaged ark, the meks tinkered with it until it can (barely) stay off the ground (so still counts-as a normal ground vehicle), then they bolted on some armour, perhaps a whole new fighting/driving compartment, and sent it into battle.

Yes, probably best as a trukk (if not too large) or battlewagon. Or be obvious and play it as a Looted Wagon

Making it into a Freebootaz ship sounds pretty good! Depending on the state of the cockpit, you can repurpose it to be where da kaptin sits, maybe put a big 'pirate like' steering wheel on it there? Depending on how much of the ribs are left, you can "rebuild" them in an orky way, and put kannons sticking out of a few of them. Then just add some grot crew swabbing the decks and you're golden!

For actual game purposes, a trukk or battlewagon sounds best. I think flash gitz in a battlewagon is kinda cool, and that would fit right into the freebootaz theme! You could argue that (if you put kannons all the way round) that they act as a single kannon/killkannon, with only 1 being loaded and shot per turn (due to incompetent grots). You've also got grots you can magnetise on and put as crew, which act as grot riggers. Then you just need to find somewhere to be able to put on shootas/rokkit launchers and you'll have a battlewagon that is also "playable" too. Or like Clang said make it a looted wagon, use the kannons to act as its singular main gun and then put maybe a big shooter on the front and one maybe in the cockpit?

Stand it on end, give it arms, legs and a head. Boom, you've got a Gorkanaut. When the models inside spill out you could imagine them bursting forth from the 'naut's chest cavity, showing the exposed ribs of the (former) Ghost Ark.
