Hey guys! I've got plenty of Waveserpent, but I want some falcons! Should I just buy the top bit and swap it back and fourth with the serpent, or do I need to just buy the whole model?

For proxying in friendly games, I'd just have some visual cue to show which is which. Have all your "wing" tips be red, or do all your icons in yellow or something to show which ones are falcons.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

As with all proxy/counts-as questions, you should check against the people you play with.

A turret swap should be fine for most people. The WS does have the shied projectors on the front and the extended cargo, but the turret up top is probably it’s most distinctive feature.

If you mix both in your army, it should be easy to tell them apart. That would be my major concern.

To be honest I would not be able to tell the difference.
Just make sure that if you field them both they don't look the same and I would be fine with it.
A turret swap would to totally do it for me.

But I am not your opponent ; )

If you want to show it a bit more, make a pulse laser to put on the right side of the turret. It is a lot longer than most other WS weapons, and will show as being different.

The shield-vanes stick out a lot more than with Falcons, but whatever.
