Subject: Are there any new lore bits in the latest Necron codex?

I'm coming to the point when I might finally have time to read the Necron codex, soon. Does anyone know if there is anything new in it about their lore, or are there any new stories or anything?
Perhaps more importantly, are there any changes to their lore?
|
It isn't "fluff" - it's lore. |

Not a lot of changes, but they did add some new bits where they talk about a pair of ancient pre-Necrontyr gods that were once believed to have created the race that eventually became the necrons. Their names were Optitron and Megatrus or something. It talks about how they gifted all necrons with "sparks" which are implied to be souls and which are now used empower necrons' mechanical bodies.
It also talks a bit about the first few acts of rebellion against the Star Gods committed by General Ahnuld who used that weird super gyroscope reality changer the 'crons have to go back and time and save this prophesied chosen one from time-traveling death marks.

ATTENTION. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

Wyld is being a troll, by the way.
There are some changes - they're a bit more like the 'oldcrons' in some ways. For example, the new codex abandons the idea of them using torchships - they have FTL and they use it.

I was quite capable of realizing the troll-ness lol, though ty for it Wyld XD
That is actually seriously awesome to hear. They could use some of that. That's already worth the read then, but remind me what the discrepancy was with torchships vs what not?

Torch Ships and then Dolmen Gates (The ward method) vs the Inertialess Drive super-ftl (pre-ward and post-orpheus method).
