Welcome to my first X Wing battle report.

I'm still learning but think its a great game for new people getting into the miniature hobby.

The forces were about 100 points, after planning everything out on the unofficial X Wing builder and then going to play I realised I didn't have all the relevant pilots and cards so had to make a few last minute changes.

The Rebels

Luke Skywalker in X Wing
Han Solo and Chewbacca in the YT-1300
Red Squadron Pilot in X Wing

The Empire
Carnor Jax in Tie Interceptor
Tetran Cowall in Tie Interceptor
Academy Pilot in Tie Fighter
Black Eight Squadron Pilot in Tie Punisher with Shield upgrade, Cluster Mines and Proton Torpedoes

The rebel force has just finished delivery of a questionable cargo and is on its way from Cloud City when it encounters a Empire patrol.

The forces meet a bit closer than expected with Han and Carnor having a face off at point blank range while every one crashes around them!

Tetran is on a flanking mission.

Carnor takes a point of damage in the encounter while the Falcon looses all its shields, in situations like this Cantor really shines as the rebels can't focus or evade.

The Falcon flys its way through the ships and the Red Squadron pilot goes straight into Hans rear! The Tie Fighter takes a critical hit from Luke setting it's console on fire, in return Luke looses a shield from Tetran but its just a flesh wound.

The Rebels try to pin down the Imperial fighters while the Falcon tries to get away. The Tie Punisher has a perfect shot and unleashes its proton torpedoes missing the Falcon. The Falcon takes a hull point from Tetran which is fixed by Chewbacca, Carnor takes a pummeling and is wiped out by the Red Squadron pilot who has just crashed into Tetran!

The X Wing's try to pull together to protect the Falcon as it comes in for the attack but Red Squadron pilot manages to crash into Luke this turn, man that's one bad pilot!

The Falcon lets rip and takes out the Tie Fighter this turn. Luke manages to take a hull point off Tetran while in return he puts a critical hit on the Falcon causing structural damage. Things are not looking good for the Empire forces.

The X-Wing untangle themselves and the Falcon manages to take a few shields off the the Tie Punisher but nothing much happens this turn.

The Rebel forces finally remember how to fly their X-Wings, Luke goes off for a long shot and takes down Tetran while the Tie Punisher is under a great threat it's now lost all its shields and drops its Cluster Mines in Han's face, he takes one straight on but it only scratches the paint lucky for Han.

The Tie Punisher tries to get away but to no avail going last the Red Squadron pilot finally shows what he's made of and gets a double critical on the Tie Punisher causing four hull points of damage bursting it into flames.

Victory for the Rebels

The Empire didn't seem to have enough fire power to take down the Falcon I think Darth Vader will be making changes to his combat patrols for their next encounter with the famous smuggler Han Solo.

Please let me know if old school batreps are still of interest for X-Wing, if there is interest I shall do more

Thanks Daniel, I'll make sure I take some pics of my next game.

I second what everyone else has already stated. Nice job. Pictures are worth a thousand words and I prefer battle reports with more pictures and less words tbh.

Thanks everyone, I should have time for the next installment this weekend if all goes to plan.

For the next one, I would suggest laying out the upgrade cards, as well as providing a link to the lists on Squadbuilder. Otherwise, your turn-by-turn commentary is good.
