Having a 1,000 small point eldar game this week, wanted to try some units I have not tried yet (not been collecting eldar for long), specifically dire avengers and (seer council/warlock conclave).

So on with the list.

Hey! First thing I would say is that if you already have the models and want to use them then do! if you want to get more competitive then here are some suggestions I have:

Farseer on bike is fantastic, he doesn't need the spear but the Spirit Stones are really good if you can squeeze it in (although this is a 1000 point game so it isn't essential).

The Warlock conclave I'm afraid isn't the most effective unit with their medioker saves , low toughness and points cost.

Dire Avengers in Serpents are amazing but during the previous Eldar codex. Now, Skyrunners with Scatter lasers are the best troops choice with their high mobility and mass firepower whereas the serpents are quite costly and the Wave Serpents although an excellent transport is a lot but with far less damage output than the Jetbikes.

Wraithlords are one of my favourite models but in a competitive scene they really struggle because of their low armour. They are quite cost heavy for something that can die to a couple of lascannon shots or tankbustas. Use the points to get those bikes if you can (explained in a moment).

Warp Spiders are fantastic. What I would suggest however is to take out the Warlock conclave and if you wish to keep the Dire Avengers, replace the warlocks with scatter laser jetbikes (min of 2 squads - each are 81 points).

As I was saying, if you keep the Avengers, put them in the Aspect Host formation with the Warp Spiders. this gives all three units +1 to their ballistic skill for free.
