Hello,

I wanted to field a Farsight Cadre since I saw it back in the good old times, where Farsight had those hard restrictions. But due to a low Crisis Body count I couldn't.

Now, with the new Start Collecting Tau Box I could get my Habds on 6 new Crisis. And now I'm burning to field them.

But the decisions I had to make where hard. I wanted many suits. Due to the bonding knife tax, I want no light Infantry like Firewarriors or Pathfinders. But taking the the retaliation cadre didn't fit in my list, because I needed two auxiliaries and I hadn't enough points.

I have a total of:

12 Crisis
3 Riptides
6 Stealthsuits
1 Ghostkeel
1 Stormsurge
3 Hazards
Lots of infantry and Tanks
Lots of drones

Here is my list for you:

The plan is to bring a lot of crisis via deep strike. But I don't know if I should put the most Crisis in the retaliation cadre or the rapid insertion force. The rapid insertion force has the better bonus (twin linked) but I must deploy them in 6 inch to the Stealthsuits. The retaliation cadre gives me (only) +1 BS but I can deploy where I want. I tend to the last.

With lots of plasma and S7 fire I hope I can strike where I want and delete the target that I want. I think Grey Knights and other Elite army's should be no problem.

The plan I want to achieve is a hard hitting list with only Elite choices. Can you experienced FSE players help me? Where does this list lacks?

Can I risk it and deploy both, the retaliation cadre AND the rapid insertion force in reserve? This would give me a devastating blow on turn 2 but with a lot risky deep strike rolls.

I'm really unsure about this list. At the end I want a hard list both, me and my opponent enjoy to play with/against.

Hi, Fellow FSE Player!
Personally Rapid Insertion Force's bonus is rather disappointing as Twin link is not such a great boost when you are already going to deploy half of your army at turn 2 and when you have no modifier to improve your deep strike roll;
Also there is high chance that you will be wiped out of table at turn 1 since there is meager amount of forces on board
(sure riptide and Broadsides are tough, but you've got to expect a lot of Grav Centurion Droppods or WK if you are going to be taking 3 Riptides)
I would rather go for my method below, by reinforcing Retaliation Cadre and getting a CAD detachment for OBSEC Units.
