I think you need to find something that can get skyfire, AND ignore cover to make your plan work. Any decent Flyrant lists will have some Malnthrope to provide those Flyrant a 2+ cover save in the first turn (I think your opponents will certainly deploy them in ruins while on ground T1, with that, you won't be able to kill even a single flyrant in your first turn, and with that no matter you get the first turn or not, your infiltrating Stormtalons will get alpha striked and shot down by those 4 or 5 Flyrants.
Using the Saint Tylus force to take 6 Stormtalons to try to counter FMC spam is bad imho, no matter you go first or second, the FMCs can counter deploy against your infiltrating talons easily, like taking covers or reserve them to avoid your alpha strikes and alpha strike you in return. I really think that when dealing with Nids, those Tylus Stormtalons is better to deploy normally, just act as a spotter for your Tyranids War Veterans, when they just hit a Nids units, your Veterans get to ignore cover against that unit, so it is great in taking out the most important buff units in the Nids army, i.e. the Malanthrope or Venomthrope, no 3+ armor save could protect them from 20 posion 2+ ignore cover shots with PE special rules ( that is likely to be 15 wounds; so unless the Manlanthrope has 5 wounds, on avaerage they will eat through that Manlanthrope). With that cover bonus taken off, you other units could easily kill the Nids ground units with your massed bolters, plasma guns, Lascannons and Gravs. Just ignore those Flyrants till the last few turns. Win the war on ground.
