Can you restore a wound on a battle automata using battles moth rule with cortex controller and then use Cybertheurgy to restore a wound in the same shooting phase?
Cheers!

I asked this a while back and got not one response.

To me it's down to the qualifier 'a' within the battlesmith and cyberturgy rules - if it's to refer to a singular item then we're both happy...

Dang! A whole year ago too. Yes very unsure. I guess Cybertheurgy means you forfit firing one and machinator array allows you to fire a second so it is fine to do both?

Don't both require you to forfit your shooting to perform? Given that you can only make one shooting attack I'd assume you forfit the shooting and then choose between Battlesmith and Cybertheurgy rather than doing both.

What is a shooting attack? All weapons or one? It is singular but I'm not sure what defines a shooting attack.

In order to make either the battlesmith or cybertheurgy roll, you must opt out of all shooting, which can only be done once ( it doesn't matter if you can shoot 5 times, shooting 1 gun is still shooting), if that makes sense.

From the battlesmith rule mechanicum red book page 112 - "....they can attempt to repair one of them instead of firing a weapon."
From the 'using cyberturgy' rules mechanicum red book page 22 - "....may use a single power in the shooting phase instead of making a shooting attack"
But...
From the Macchinator array rules mechanicum red book page 112 - "....the user can opt to fire both of these weapons in the shooting phase, or one of them and another ranged weapon the model is carrying."
So is 'a' singular or plural?
Depends on context really, but was the rule written with the understanding that there was a peice of wargear which would allow you to fire two weapons in a single shooting phase, or on the assumption that everything only shoots once ever?
The mechanicum red book complicates things further on page 30 where Inar Satarael is an MC (can shoot two weapons) who has both battlesmith and cyberthurgy rules.
As i stated in the other thread - i really like the idea of an archmagos fixing vehicles with his macchinator array while tinkering with the software of the nearby robots. Epic.
