So I have just started playing again and see a lot of rulings on source limits. I'm very hot and cold on the game and don't stay as current as I should. I currently am working on an ork army. Let's say I wanted to run the starter box formation, buzzgrub and a formation from the ghaz book. I figured that's three sources. I still need the codex for the actual stat lines. If I'm using the base codex for only statlines and nothing else is out still a source? It's really frustrating that I need 4 things to play an army. One being a magazine the other being card stock.

Source rulings are a thing made up by tournament organizers who feel like limiting how many rule books you can pull from will help balance the game, or they just don't want you to bring you cool stompy thing from one good book and mix it in with the other cool stompy stuff from other books.. They don't really exist.
