Hi all,

Just getting into Bolt Action, and I am learning about the Finns in the Winter and Continuation Wars...and this is a direction I want to head in. However, it looks like Warlord Games is sold out of most of their Infantry. Are they coming out with new/more Finnish? Should I wait for a bit, and work on Americans now?

I did see that the Blitzkreig Germans are similar, and to be fair I don't care a ton about Historical Accuracy if I can convert them to my needs. I'm open and hoping for some suggestions, for instance would Wargames Factory Germans do the trick?

I'm looking forward to some conversions, and looting some tanks! Can't take the Ork outta me

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Warlord actually has an article on their site for converting Germans into Finns, I would check that out. Its from before the Finn models existed so it'll reference older kits but I'm sure you'll get some mileage out of it.

Yeah I was checking that out, I'm assuming they are pretty accurate. I might not cut off the gas masks. Though in searching, I found another person who was using plastic Winter Soviets and doing a head swap for...Germans I guess?

Holy crap some of those prices can't be right. Some of those starter boxes are cheaper than I can get them with a sarge discount

I've bought a bunch off eBay from them over the past year or two with nothing but positive experiences. Didn't realize they had a storefront outside of eBay, but looks like I'll be going to that from now on.

There are alternative miniatures.
Brigade Games
Baker Company. Baker Company had a highly dubious and non fulfilled KS campaign for winter war Finns a couple of years ago so its probably best to avoid them.

The 'Finnish Infantry' box set was retired a few months ago, as it didn't fit with the Bolt Action rules set so well (too many SMGs I believe?)

So Warlord re-packaged the models into blisters and the new 10-man box set

Thanks Volume, I was wondering why it was listed on the website and unavailable
