Finally faced Stormcasts for the first time, then immediately followed by Bloodbound for another first. Continuing a conversation I had this morning at the game store, what's your fav and that army you dread? Can be because of anything, style, appearance, tactics, magic or shooting, types of units, named heroes, whatever.
Ok, ill start. I'm playing my Fyreslayers currently and the duardin and Seraphon were in the months after release so I'll exclude those two. My favorite was Beastmen. Yeah, they had a Gorthor synergy which stomped me eventually but hey, Beastmen, on the table...playing against me! Was awesome to see them be great and effective. I missed them so. Dread the most...undead and summoning bonanza. I just, only have so many living bodies. (For now)

Duardin artillery batteries.
Quicker and less hassle just to have two movement phases in a row and only set up half my army...

The army I love seeing the most across from me is wood elves, they are truly a beautiful army when done proper.
The army I dread, either summon Tzeentch or Empire, damn that state troop synergy cutting down my rat lines!

Haven't had them pleasure of standing before my more gunpowder-inclined cousins. WE are a beautiful army and I agree, was also lucky enough to be in just that exact scenario last week. A guy yesterday was painting a Tzeentch army of old and new models for AoS. Looked amazing and nostalgic. Can't wait to face it.

Threads like these are when you realize you've only ever played against Khorne. Hopefully that'll change tomorrow when we start our AOS campaign for Orion's spear.

Any nicely painted/themed army is a nice vision for me and increases the joy I get from the game.
Gameplay-wise I do not like to face the Seraphon as I find them a very powerful army.

@war boss I'm surprised I had t faced them until today. Ships passing in the night at each event, apparently. I do love the range available to them but I can see your point. Hope you get some fun games in. What armies are you using currently?
@ Sieg... I have a huge collection to rebase (again) when I get home and go play the. With new battle tome yet. Yes vs. lizards with magic summoning insanity but I hear consistently from events and casual gamers they are right up there with Stormcasts as the hardest to deal with.

It really depends on the comp. If the comp does not restrict summoning (or if there is no comp) then summoning can make the game unplayable in my opinion.
I own a Stormcast Eternals army and while they are strong if you play a pure list of them (which I always prefer) they have some weaknesses. Granted the problem of not having any monsters and not having fast units was ammended wit Extremis Chamber, the fact that they do not have any wizards means they have no actual way of defending themselves from sorcery (or summoning ) which is a huge problem.
Regarding rebasing I have 3 armys from WFB (High Elves, Wood Elves and Bretonnia) but as we're talking about many many models I don't see myself doing it any time soon...

Playing Chaos the toughest for me is Undead skeletons. The horde thing is bad enough but the Crypt Guard shenanigans
has kept me from winning at least once, probably more.

Yeah, understand that. I doubt my Fyreslayers are getting anything else so keeping them solo might be rough later on after duardin releases. Less options is a pain I feel.

I've played a 4-player match where the Ogors army rampaged across the entire board (squashing a Dark Elf army to pancakes in the first turn or two) - so I say they are the most fearsome to face so far.
Favourite? Hmm probably Death because the table always looks awesome with loads of skeletons and other nasties.

Hm nurgle can be tough. I have two main armies. Fyreslayers and seraphon. What j noticed with my league was fyreslayers are ok if they don't get sudden death. If they do I've always lost. They do the terrain one

My fave army has to a Grand Congregation of Nurgle, so Rotbringers, Daemons, and Pestilens Skaven, even converting some Beastmen into Pestigors currently!
I fear either Seraphon or Death most, Seraphon mostly because of their decent saves, abilities and plenty of ignore rend, same applies to Death, but they scare me more with summoning and big horrible monsters than anything.

In my store we have very little restrictions and few month ago we had the craziest most fun to play battle I've ever had.
It my (and my friend's) Seraphons against a mix of Beastmen and Tzeentch. But not any Beastmen, 9 Grey Shamans trying to summon MONSTERS of their choice every turn. Tzeentch only started with one single Lord of Change and one unit of Pink Horrors and some flame thingy.
On our side we started with one Slann and Kroak, as well as two Engine of the Gods and one of pretty much everything.
After 3 turns the table was covered in a hundred skinks, ripperdactyls, 3 Carnosaurs, a Troglodon, 2 Stegadons, Kroxigors, etc. And on their side, hordes of Horrors, multiples Lords of Change, two Bloodthirsters, a Necrosphinx, Skarbrand, a Treelord, etc.
Absolutely epic and while it's completely unbalanced, that's my favorite army to play against. Seraphons actually won thanks to Kroak being a genuine cleanse against Chaos and having so many Skinks they couldn't summon anything anywhere anymore thanks to the 9" rule.
My most dreaded army to face would also be that one if it was for serious play, but it only comes out for fun. So it would probably be a Tomb King list someone is running at the store, made of around 6 or 8 Ushabtis with bows hiding in the back and a Necrosphinx and Bone Giant in the front slowing you down, with other smaller stuff in between. Really deadly if you don't have anything to fly over and kill the Ushabtis quickly., which I didn't.

So after a bit more experience at the weekend with my Stormcast, my favorite army to play against is any kind of elf, Wood Elves being my #1. I also had a game against Tzeentch!
That wasn't fun.

My favorite army to play against would be some army that I have yet to fight.
The toughest army to play against would probably be a summoning army, not so much because of the troops they bring, but because I don't know for sure what troops are coming or where they are going. Lots of uncertainties.
