The History of the Turquoise-colored, Space Marines of the Sons of Tranquility is shrouded in mystery. They are successors of the "Dark Angels" Chapter and were founded during the "21st cursed founding". Due to there status as a 21st founding Chapter, many other Chapters refuse to fight alongside them, driving the Sons of Tranquility into a reclusive state, contacting no one except for their founding Legion and high ranking Officials within the imperium.
The Chapter came to prominence during the Barracuvan Campaign, involving several Regiments of the Astra Militarum and the Sons of Tranquility as they battled Necron forces in defense of the Barracuvan Sector in Segmentum Pacificus.
Chapter Information/Recruitmen
The Sons of Tranquility hail from the lifeless Moon, 'Vektus', which orbits a Gas giant named 'Parthanas'. Vektus is rather small compared to other Moons surrounding 'Parthanas' and is devoid of Life due to Vektus' lack of Atmosphere. The Fortress Monastery of the Sons of Tranquility is actually located deep under the surface of Vektus and is complete with a Gravitational generator which simulates the Gravity of more habitable Planets. The entrance to the Fortress lies within a giant, lone, Spire known to the wider Imperium as 'The Shrouded Tower', a hollow Spire which houses the Fortress' entrance (In the form of a massive, Elevating platform) and the walls of this Spire are decorated with mysterious paintings and portraits which spiral up towards the seemingly endless ceiling. The Fortress itself acts almost like a Hive City (Only difference being that the Fortress' populace are unnaturally compliant) and the Chapter recruits from the populace of the Fortress itself (Which would normally attract the attention of the Imperium, though the Chapter guards this secret) The recruits are not valiant Warriors, but are instead sophisticates, taken from numerous Colleges, Libraries which the Fortress houses. Each individual recruit undergoes a thorough, mentally taxing, training regimen which focuses on strengthening both the Resolve and battle hardiness of the recruit. This training regimen is conducted by the Chapters Librarians, allowing the recruits mind to be mentally scoured for taint of the Ruinous powers and also allows for the implantation of various tactics and strategies, as well as the physical training necessary to fight with the fervor and unrelenting fury associated with the Astartes as a whole. As such, the recruits never physically train (This form of training is also safe guarded within the Chapter) as for those who are deemed unworthy of the Chapter, they are discarded, with their minds wiped clean of all memory of the training itself.
Chapter Command Structure/ Culture
The Chapter's command structure is centered around a small council of Librarians and other members who've proven themselves through the test of time. 'The Council of the Sacred' are responsible for command over the entire Chapter and the populace of the Fortress. Many of the council's members are also allowed to enter the 'Chamber of Untold truths' which contain many archives of lost knowledge, some of these archives are rumored to possess the knowledge of the fates of even the lost Primarchs, other rumores of the Chamber state that the Chamber has knowledge from the Age of Strife and events from ages previous which are unknown to most of the Galaxy. The 1st company is known as "The Guild" and is made up of the Chapters Veterans, which the Veterans of "The Guild" are also granted Terminator honors, as well a limited access to the "Chamber of Untold Truths". Members of "The Guild" are distinguishable by their Emerald Green Pauldrons, as well as the Emerald Robes they wear when not Armored. The culture of Sons of Tranquility, revolves around knowledge and strengthening their intellect, the Chapter is also known for the amount of Librarians which the Chapter possesses. When not in abttle, many Brothers of the Chapter are given time to Meditate and study all manner of topics (As long as they adhere to the Imperial Cult), Brothers of the Chapter are also instructed to maintain their own Armament and the punishment for failure to maintain their Armament is severe, ranging from Solitary confinement, to flogging with a barbed device known as "The Slasher". In battle, the Marines of the Chapter are silent, seemingly responding to each other in silence, which has lead to many rumors that the Brothers from this Chapter are actually Telepathic.
Adherence to the Codex Astartes
The Sons of Tranquility do not adhere the Codex as strictly as other Chapters, as such, their Combat doctrine is not a solidified manner of fighting. They handle each battle with fluidity, able to conform to each situation as each situation demands.
Notable Members
Brother Serenitius- Chief Librarian and head of "The Council of the Sacred"
Brother Davan- Captain of the 4th Company, notable for his employment of Guerrilla tactics.
Brother Lanan- Master of Relics, the only member of the Chapter who is responsible to the Upkeep of the "Chamber of Untold Truths"
