So I want to run this by you guys; a Shattered Legion force made of Word Bearers and Ultramarines(!) made entirely from the Calth box so they can do double duty in the board game too.

What are the odds? Is this the tail end of a pre-Heresy campaign where the WB & UM were fighting side by side but things went a bit awry for these particular squads and they had to join up to get back to their ships?
Is this on Calth still? If so, which are the ones who turned their backs on their legion? Fanatical loyalist Word Bearers who somehow managed to avoid the purges? Or Lodge-inducted Ultramarines finally showing their true colours?

I think it's gonna be fun finding out…

It's far from impossible.

It could even be during the battle of calth itself. The Death Of Reason was a massive daemonic incursion, and whilst the daemons were....mostly.....aimed at the loyalists, it's not impossible that a force of Word Bearers and Ultramarines might have been cut off and forced to fight together to survive at all. Once things are secure, they'll start shooting at one another again...

But certainly, there might have been turncoats on both sides. For that matter, they might both be turncoats who've decided to turn blackshield (raining baneblades will do that).
