I'm planning on kitbashing a Destroyer Overlord, if you will, using parts from various models (Destroyer, Heavy Destroyer upgrade pack, Anrakyr the Traveller and Imotekh the Stormlord). Is there a way, do you guys think, that I could remove the faceplate from the Destroyer's head, the eye thing, and put it on Anrakyr's face? Putting it on wouldn't be an issue, I assume I'd just use green stuff and/or superglue, but getting it off the Destroyer's head is stumping me.

Not sure you can remove something that small without destroying it. Can I suggest just finding the bit on E-Bay?

Unfortunately it's not a bit, it's just part of the Destroyer head on the sprue, hence my difficulty.

Could you not just use the whole necron destroyer's head instead of trying to remove the faceplate?
Otherwise you might have to just make it out of greenstuff.

Ahhh, I get it. Sorry about that. I thought it was something that was already glued on.

You can cut it off the head gently and carefully with a hobby knife and then sand it to fit. I would say it's worth a try!

I could, in theory, but I'm trying to make a Necron Overlord that's become a Destroyer, so using a plain Destroyer head would be losing the regal nature of Necron nobles. I might do as you suggest and try to make one out of greenstuff, or if not just leave it.

It most certainly won't hurt to try. I can try to file it down, then fill Anrakyr's eye socket with green stuff and attach the eyeplate to that. If I can't file it down right, I'll just leave it and get the full scowl.

If thats the case, then I think greenstuff is your best bet as filing down a head is going to be fiddly and you risk damaging the faceplate itself.
Also you can keep the destroyer head as is and use that for reference when making the faceplate out of greenstuff.

Doesn't look like it would be difficult to me tbh.
Just a matter of cutting away the undesired portion (clippers should work) and then carving/filing away the excess plastic from the portion you want to use with your hobby knife.
Dont try to make it too pretty, as long as you dont damage the portion you're wanting to use, you can just fill in and patch up the rest with GS afterwards.
