These are the 2 main armies I fight against. Does anyone have any ideas on what to buy, how to fight against them, I've got a small army, 1250 points. with 2 10-man tactical squads, a 5 man assault squad, a 3-man bike squad, a 5-man scout squad, a land speeder, a chaplain and the space marine Kill team Casius.

Pls focus on How to defeat elder long range troops and Nid swarms.

I'm not entirerly sure about the Nid army, but a I know that he's brought a lot of termies, gene stealers and over small numerous models..

Eldar, Lots of stealth and sniper groups, re-inforced by some guardians and transports, as well as a few banshees, scorpians and over units with a few fire prisms. My bolters don't have the range to hit the elder without loosing most of my unit.

Could you be a bit more specific on what you face? We'd need to know more about their units for specific advice

That said, general advice against swarm nids is to target synapse if you can easily take it out (I'm assuming they're not fielding flying tyrants, and assuming casual lists). Warriors die to lascannons/missiles/melta, zoanthropes can be boltered down. Target priority is the key. A flamer or two couldn't hurt either.

Or simply field a dreadnought. You'd be surprised at how hard they are to take down for us bugs (outside of carnifexes or dakkatyrants). Can't say anything about eldar I'm afraid.

Thanks for the advice, my friend has ordered a large Nid horde, he only gave me a brief list of his army.

The greatest weapon is the brain, (no, I don't mean you take it from your head and hit someone with it)

What does that list contain?

If it has a feew big monsters, and not too much else, get high-strength low-ap weapons. Lots of them.

If it contains loads of little ones, get flamers and blast templates.

Always aim for big nids first.

Against Eldar, gl hf. Only real way to beat Eldar is to also have Eldar.

You have transports for your tac squads? Both pods and rhinos will help you get into bolter range.

What kind of scouts? If CC/bolter, get them a LSS.

It sounds like you are a bit light on long range firepower. Depending on what you like and what chapter, there are a lot of options. Dev squads can work well. TFCs and whirlwinds are good for blowing hordes off the table. Dreads and Preds are vehicles, which have their issues, but can put some fire downrange.
