Are these 30k legal? I was under the impression they were, but now Roster Editor has me second guessing myself.

there is no preclusion against them, though you should always fact check battlescribe when it comes to 40k, doubly so for 30k.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Fortifications are legal. They should show up in battlescribe, but sometimes it doesn't load for me.
Not 100% sure about the formations of fortifications

Battlescribe isnt really rules or the end all be all of rules confirmation.

Check with your play group. im sure fortifications was a thing 10k years before.

but probably not as many eagles or skulls (maybe)

Weirdly, the bastion has a manufacture date as an obvious anachronism. So I had to shave that off.

Hah! Yeah, I had the same problem when I noticed all the Knight decals were M39 or M40

So far as I can tell, there is nothing either permitting or denying you access to Stronghold Assault fortifications in a game of 30k.

The strictest interpretation that I can imagine is that since the units are not in the HH books, and Stronghold Assault isn't referenced in the HH books, they can't be used. As a contrast, the HH rules specifically allow you to take any Imperial Superheavy Vehicle or Flyer from the IA books if the HH books don't have rules for an era-specific counterpart.

That said, we play Stronghold Assault units all the time. Only a rules lawyer is going to give you any grief over an Aegis Defense Line or a Bastion.

Especially seeing as Solar Aux have a special way to take an aegis, meaning that they must be atleast possible to bring for them, don't see why marines couldn't use their fortification slot for it.

the auxilia aegis lines are a special form of their deployment. The Age of darkness FOC has a slot for fortifications, by extention no one should whine about you bringing them.

The Taghmata book, at least, specifically mentions Stronghold Assault as the rules source for fortifications. Did LACAL predate the publication of SA (or, more specifically, HH1 from which LACAL was mostly copy/pasted)?
