Obviously Serrcouncil is seriously nerfed in ITC games/tournaments (invis, reroll saves, casting same power from multiple ICs all nerfed), but can it still work in the context of ITC events? Has anyone had any success running one at these events? If so what powers/builds did you focus on? I'm guessing other Deathstars seriously cause problems if they have lots of Iron Priests etc And heavy shooting probably takes it down, but just wondering if anyone has managed to have success with this?

Can deathstar builds be viable in ITC 40k at all? And is it still worth taking a WK with all the debuffs to GMC super heavies? Are you better with another "area threat" unit? (WG in Serpent?)

I've been running Seer Council as local events for roughly a years' time. There are certainly nerfs but I haven't minded them as I've felt they're fair.

In brief I run at minimum 3 Farseers / 5 Warlocks, and at times scaled to 4 Farseers / 8 Warlocks. I find I prefer the smaller allotment without the Hit & Run of Baharroth. It's riskier, but it seems to me the greatest value of the group is in force multiplying rather than dedicated deathstar. Giving Guide/Prescience to Scatbikes, throwing down Fortune on a Wraithknight, adding Invisibility to target of choice, using Jinx/Reveal/Banishment depending, etc.

It's a luck based strategy at heart, but with mitigated extremes. I've had very few truly knock out games against it, but I have lost prior to deployment based on rolls. Lots of fun and solid control.

As for your Wraithknight question, I still take one. There are significant negatives in the ITC that can't be avoided, but the shots he can consume (especially when buffed) are worth the weight in resin.

Its role is diminished to more of a support unit than a deathstar that can inflict high damage outputs.
