- Guijia squadron witht he MHMG, AP CCW and Heavy flamer. 88pts
- Zhanying with misile launcher. 28pts

For your first game drop the TAG and trim points down to 150. Losing the hacker would be a good way to save points and since nothing else is really hackable you save yourself the headache of hacking. I think that's a good starting point and there's nothing preventing you from bring the TAG and hacker in another game. You'll want to bring it up to 300 points to fit enough support elements however.

While the Zhanying ML+Nanopulser profile is pretty good for AROs and occasionally popping off shots in active turn, he'll have his day ruined by smoke or camo of any kind. A total reaction HMG has the same weakness but is usually more effective against chaff and similarly effective against hard targets like TAGs or HI. A sniper (or better yet a missile) with MSV L2 will be a better all round choice. (Bao troops with MSR is a great one)

Shang Ji LT is a pretty good choice IMO. I love HI, arm 4, 2 wound LTs. They're a pain in the ass to remove.

I personally would probably never pay for the boarding shotgun option on the Domaru Butai. If it were the same cost as the chain rifle maybe, but he's got berserk, MA L3 and frenzy and a good ccw so he can't really sit back and hide in cover and really get his points worth out of the shotgun. And he has an okay BS of 12 so instead of risking not hitting and having your hits cancelled, just use the chain rifle and slap them with that nasty direct template. The impact template is a cool gimmick but not for the Domaru as far as I'm concerned. Oh and he has kinematika and PH 14, so you should ARO dodge towards the direction you want to go instead of shooting back with a terrible range mod on the boarding shotgun. And I wouldn't lose sleep over the AP CCW. It's nice but they don't get cover mods to ARM so the double action will still hurt. I wouldn't bother with the E/M sword since you have grenades that do the same thing.

Whatever you decide, good luck and enjoy the game!

That's not how you use a shotgun? You don't sit in cover with a shotgun, you use it aggressively to get into the 8" band for that awesome +6. Then you don't need to worry about cover, since you're firing at BS18, not 12. At worst (as long as they're not a camo unit or something similar, which you should be tackling with another unit anyway) they're in cover and you're firing at BS15. This should be winning you face to face rolls which means you don't eat incoming shots that the Chain Rifle lets through.

Boarding Shotguns tend to get a really bum rap, mostly because people try to use them like rifles. I've had a Kum rifle/light shotgun (granted, much greater mobility, but much less survivability) obliterate half an enemy force without ever firing his rifle. As soon as you get into that +6 band, shotguns become amazing. The Kum had mobility to get there, Domaru have two wounds and good armour.

But then, this is the great thing about Infinity. The advice about the chain rifle isn't wrong either, both work great. Just use the weapons properly and you'll see good results from both.
