Afternoon all, I'm hoping you fine people will be able to provide me with some feedback on the below list.

It's an 1850 point tournament, with a 0-1 LOW/Gargantuan creature limit. 5 Games the majority of which are objective based. I should start by saying I am not a tournament player, just a casual player. The list is designed to kill. The stealth suits will try to capture objectives where possible but I'm playing to kill as much of my opponent as possible before game end. Not the usual tactic I know, but I want to see how it works!

Anyways the list:

Fireblade + 10 fire warriors
Fireblade + 10 fire warriors
2 broadsides with high yield missiles
2 broadsides with high yield missiles
5 stealth suits
6 stealth suits (2 with fusion blasters)
Supremacy suit (armed with ion blasters)
Tidewall rampart
8 pathfinders.

The fireblades are there for the increasing of the fire warriors shooting whilst remaining nice cheap options. The stelath suits will grab objectives. Broadsides will focus on lighter armoured vehicles whilst the tidewall and supremacy suit will target the big stuff.

Pathfinders and fire warriors will be deployed on the tidewall to benefit from it's cover and free movement shenanigans. The pathfinders are in there for their markerlights only.

The only thing I'm umming and ahhing about is the tidewall. Dropping it gives me 265 points to play with which would be more broadsides and more pathfinders.

So thoughts. Comments. Suggestions?

I've run this at 1500 (no pathfinders or rampart) against eldar and raven guard and tabled both by turn 4.

It's a nice and fun list with decent firepower so if you like the models and are happy with it go for it!

That said, reviewing this list competitively in my view you only have 1 really competitive unit and that is the Ta'unar. The list lacks mobility and will suffer because of it.

I would either go for a Farsight Crisis suit heavy list with the Supremacy or go big with Ta'unar, Riptide Wing and Y'vahra's.

You might want to make sure the tournament allows the KX139, as I don't know of ANY that would allow you to bring it, especially in 1850.

I aren't think that.

@X078 honestly I'm not planning on being that mobile. Any movement is going to be covered (hopefully) by the stealth suits. With longe range firepower I'm planning on drawing my opponents towards me.

@Sheit27 that was the first thing I checked and it is allowed. I know of one other player bringing one, a warhound titan that will be coming, a knight army and an eldar player rocking their big guy!

To comabt the mobility (and to help with markers as the supremecy suit NEEDS them) id try to fit in some tetras they are beasts for markerlights (2 shot TL) plus there a fast skimmer so can dart onto an objective pretty quick, add in disruption pods and there pretty surviable untill someone plonks a Ignores cover on them haha

Careful I have CDO it’s like OCD but in alphabetical order LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!!!!

Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

@kezwick what would you suggest dropping for them though?

For markerlights I've got the pathfinders squad and the fortification drops down 4 marker drones.

Honesty, I've not had to worry about the supremacy needing markerlights. It's templates are large enough that scattering doesn;t usually bother them and BS 4 still leaves it hitting on 3's with the remainder of it's guns.

I suppose its better than the Storm surge in that respect and id drop the rampart as thats enouph for 4 tetras and 165 points to play with dropping the pathfinders too would allow for another squad of missile sides or a riptide

either that or i would combine the Missilesides into a 3 man unit and add Missile drones and add in the buff mander for tank/monster hunter and Ignores cover (i know not as good on the SMS but S7 Ignores cover makes flyers think twise) and BS5 TL(if you take the upgrade) Missile drones

I have been eyeing dropping the rampart, as I'm trying to decide if it's points make it worth while.

On one hand it's giving me 4 drones, a heavy rail rifle, a cover save, re-rolling 1's and reflecting shots back on my opponent.

4 tetras would leave me 65 points to play with...though paying 200 points for 16 markerlights seems really expensive to me. (the other issues here being I don't own any tetras and would need to purchase and paint them asap)

I'm not a fan of the buffmander and I have been tempted by a unit of crisis suits and commander farsight. Take him as warlord and no deep strike scatter.

I've got a couple of games lined up for the may bank holiday so will take a look and see how this works then!

What are you going to do against full strength invisible melee death stars?

I aren't think that.

I have 3 in my lists (one for each tide adn one for my Broardsides) and yes i messed up the points i always put disruption pods on so there a flat 50 pts, the other benifit is that they will be one of the fastest units on the table which is very useful in a comp scene, but yea proxi them ( i used paranas SM bikes and landspeeders before i actually brought them haha) see how they go, and the buffmander is good in the right scene with the broardsides your now puting out 24 S7 Ignores cover TL tank/monster hunter shots (12 @BS5) thats pretty much removing a tank or unit a turn. against AV 13 your removing 6 HPs a turn to help with that knight army!

@sheit I have no idea, I've not actually faced one yet. I'm not really a follower of the "meta" of the game. This will be my first tourny that isn't local. Hence the cry for help

@kezwick I was looking at the update where it has them at a flat 50 points before any upgrade.

No proxies allowed for the tourny >.<

I'm just mindful that I'm then throwing a lot of points into one unit. Pretty much all my units are of low cost, so their loss is not that painful. A buffmander led broadside unit is instantly going to be a target.
