Since I will soon be getting Imperial Knights: Renegade, I thought I would brainstorm how I could fit Knights into my armies. This is one such idea that I could play in a local tournament.
Detachment 1: Ravenwing Strike Force
HQ:
Librarian: ML2, Bike, Auspex
Interrogator-chaplain: Bike, Mace of Redemption
Elites:
Ravenwing Command Squad: 6 men, Apothecary, Champion, RW banner, 1x Grenade Launcher
Fast Attack:
Ravenwing Bike Squad: 5 men, 2x Grav gun, Lightning Claw, Veteran upgrade, and Melta Bombs for Sgt.
Ravenwing Bike Squad: 5 men, 2x Grav gun, Lightning Claw, Veteran upgrade, and Melta Bombs for Sgt.
Ravenwing Attack Bike Squad: 1 bike, Multimelta
Ravenwing Land Speeder: Multimelta, Assault Cannon
Detachment 2: Formation: Ravenwing Support Squadron
Ravenwing Darkshroud
Ravenwing Land Speeders: 3 speeders, each with Heavy Bolter and TML
Detachment 3: Imperial Knight Oathsworn Detachment
Knight Crusader: Rapid Fire Battle Cannon, Avenger Gatling Cannon, Stormspear Rocket Pod
Tactics: The two bike characters join the Command Squad, making it into a small deathstar. Librarian takes powers from Interromancy. The Knight sits in the backfield and kills stuff with its guns, although it could move forward and grab objectives towards the end of the game. I would have put the extra land speeder with a bike squad in a Ravenwing Attack Squadron, as the bonuses are nice, but our local tournaments have a 3 detachment limit. I feel like this list is plenty durable despite the low model count due to the Ravenwing rerollable jink rule. The Support squadron makes charging Ravenwing potentially hazardous, and makes units near it immune to Overwatch when they themselves charge. The Command squad would be especially nasty on the charge if the Librarian gets Righteous Repugnance on the Interromancy table (everyone in the unit gets Rage!).
