So it's that time again where I consider playing 40k again. This time it looks like I might actually do it I also have been getting interested in Age of Sigmar and plan to play that too. Being the special snowflake I am, I want to come up with some interesting concepts.

So, here's one of those ideas. I really like the look of the Khorne Bloodbound models in AoS, and are going to do a force of them alongside the Stormcasts. That got me thinking of how I wanted to play Khorne Daemonkin because they seemed fun, fluffy, not that bad on the table and, most importantly for someone like me, able in the background to show up anywhere and fight anyone (even other Daemonkin!). I started thinking and came up with the idea of a cursed warband, eternally waging a war of bloodshed and carnage, almost like human versions of how Khorne's daemonic legions operate. So the idea is to use Khorne Bloodbound parts (I'm thinking mostly heads and weapons here, maybe like a shoulderpad here and there) in converting Chaos troops for the Daemonkin army, and painting them identically so the idea is it's the exact same warband (name TBD; in my head I've been referring to them as "The Bloodsworn Legion"). I'd have to do a bit of stretching of the background, I think, but I have been reading a copy of Slaves to Darkness and that, along with the gothic John Blanche style artwork has me excited for this as a longterm hobby project (to the extent it will likely be a while before it gets fielded on the table) that will look amazingly cool (or that's the idea, anyways). I also have the idea to do several different versions of my army commander to represent various stages of his career (again, inspired by Slaves to Darkness). So for example on foot and cheaply equipped, on a Juggernaut, as a Daemon Prince, etc. perhaps with several different models with various equipment.

Has anyone tried using parts from the Khorne Bloodbound models on CSM/Berzerkers? Will I have to do a lot of conversion work? I'm not that comfortable (but also don't have experience) with much more than simple conversions, but the way I envision the warband, having a hodgepodge of equipment isn't bad (e.g. if I have to use a bare arm with a weapon on a Berzerker I am fine with that, I want them to look fairly ragtag like a gang of marauders cobbling things together). Also this gives me the option to buy some Khorne deaemons and use them across both lists (eyeing their new Start Collecting bundle).

I would love a tau auxiliaries or kroot codex. Also a mercenaries codex that's allies of convince with everything save for nids and crons would be nice. Might be nice to see the lesser races in 40k get some rep on the table top. Isn't the galaxy full of aliens that aren't orks, tau, kroot, human, eldar or nids?
