Morning all. One 1850 list I'd like some feedback on! I'm messing around with my tau army and trying to come up with something pretty competitive.

Fireblade + 10 fire warriors
10 fire warriors
commander + drone controller + 2 marker drones + 6 marker drones
8 pathfinders
supremacy suit
tidewall shieldline
6 stealth suits (w/ 2 fusion blasters and target lock)
6 stealth suits (w/2 fusion blasters and target lock)
2 broadsides - high yield missile pods
2 broadsides - high yield missile pods

Idea is the fireblades unit and the pathfinders sit on the tidewall moving about as necessary. The other fire warrior squad camps an objective. The stealth suits infiltrate close to the enemy lines using their fusion blasters to pop tanks, whilst the rest of their unit direct fire against troop squads).

The broadsides will focus on transports or flyers, using their twin linked to hopefully reek some havok.

The supremacy withh just do what it does best and kill. He's there for knight hunting. His D strength blast will be focused either on grups of tanks or high toughness models. If nothing suitable he'll switch it up for the apocalytpic barrage. Ion cannons will be used to target the knights and smart missiles and burst cannons add some more troop killing options.

With the buffmander and pathfinders I'm hopeful of throwing out enough markerlights to ensure accuracy and remove any pesky cover.

With so many stealth suits, why not go all the way and get a stealth infiltration cadre?

Let the galaxy burn.

I don't have the ghostkeel which needs to be taken in the formation and the ghostkeel is a LOW which would would prevent me from taking the supremacy suit.

It's for a tournament next week and its 0-1 LOW/Superheavy otherwise I would ahve gone ut to buy one

Ghostkeel is not LoW...

Hey, triplegrim is right, you should take the ghostkeel. Also, it isn't a LoW, it is a monstrous creature. The Supremacy armor is a gargantuan monstrous creature also, so both will not affect each other. Also, taking the formation means your fusion guns that you upgraded is shooting at the rear of the enemy vehicles as well. I would drop the fireblade +10 warriors to get a commander with iridium armor and split the other firewarrior to 5/5 because they can just camp at objectives. Combine the broadsides into 1 team of 3 with the commander. The iridium commander can help a broadside team tank and give ignore cover but its slightly higher priced.

All in all its a pretty decent list, and I would suggest splitting the pathfinder to 2 teams so you get the most out of your markerlight hits.

Yea I don't know. I feel like this isn't tournament ready. A bunch of stuff strikes me.

As stated why all the stealth suits? They are generally considered a points sink unit. The only way they are good is in the optimized stealth cadre(which is one of the better formations).

If you take a CAD(and that's fine if you do) pathfinders are not the way to go for marker lights. You should drop them entirely. Take tetras instead. Or marker drones and a commander with irridium armor, drone controller, etc.

The broadsides are kindof a waste here too since to shine they need formation bonuses now or other buffs to make him work. I would rework the list. The riptide wing is very good.

From a competitive standpoint I think 2x stormsurges is better than the supremacy since they can dump 8x sD alpha strike but I certainly don't think the supremacy suit is bad.
