As a new adopter of Kings of War I only have the Gamer's Edition rulebook and two fledgling armies, but I am intrigued by the Destiny of Kings book. Mantic says it has new heroes and campaign rules, but little else is really explained, with no real mention of it on their official forums.

Can someone give me a little more detail?

Destiny of Kings is a book that connects Kings of War with the new dungeon crawler, Dungeon Saga. The idea is that once you finish the Undead campaign of Dungeon Saga, you continue the story up on the surface in the new campaign, with your group of 4 dungeon crawling heroes now joined by Kings of War armies

Destiny of Kings contains a campaign which has a dungeon saga side quest (and which assumes you have access to undead and abyssals armies) but also contains Mantic's ideas on how to run your own KoW campaigns with additional rules for veteran units gaining experience over the campaign length and recruiting new troops. It does have the stats and rules for adding the heroes from Dungeon Saga to KoW armies but also has a set of 6 new battle scenarios for KoW to expand on the ones in the main rulebook. If you are thinking of running your own KoW campaign it's worth getting even if you don't play the quest of the necromancer campaign from the book.
