So I would quite like to be able to run Exodus in my alpha legion at some point and I have a couple of questions;

1) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he has a model as of yet. So what do you suggest using for him?
2) How do you run him? In a unit of head-hunters? In a unit of recon snipers? On his own? Or in some other way?

No model yet. As for running him I usually put him in a recon squad to act as ablative wounds, or in a head hunter squad.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

I used to run him with a minimum headhunter squad with a heavy bolter, so I could pump out a bunch of AP4 preferred enemy fire. It wasn't a great use of 300 points, but it was cute.

With the changes to headhunters, he doesn't really mesh well with them. Recon marines would work if sniper rilfes weren't so terrible in 7th edition. He doesn't really have a proper home anymore.

I used him solo once, good fun and if he isn't targeted immediately can put out a surprising amount of hurt. I might convert one for now until the proper model is out.
Will try him with a sniper Recon squad next.

He puts out a LOT of hurt if your opponent brings 20 man tactical squads with apothecaries

Yea that's totally not true, because any notable target like Apothecaries will have artificer armour, and can pawn off his attacks with Look out Sir!

Ok so when I do run him I'll probably run him solo. But what would model would you use for him, or how would you go about converting him? I was considering getting one of the raven guard mor deythans from ebay and adding some alpha legion shoulder pads and an alpha legion helmet, but is there a better way of doing it?

Used an old Black Reach captain for a conversion, the cloak making it easy. Also, ask any Skitarii player, they have lots of ornate sniper rifles...

As for playing Exodus, I tried him solo a few times, always caught a leftover missile to the face. Since running him with a unit of 5 sniper recons, he only died when terminators stormed his hideout. If rolling remotely good, he can make quite a difference, but not game-changing. One game, he removed 4 plasma guns/cannons in 4 rounds, making 4 combat squads close to worthless. A fun unit, but not tournament-grade material.

1. He has a 4 shot Sniper rifle that has RENDING
2.He inflics Precision Shots on a 4+
3.Apothecaries are not Independent Characters, so Look Out Sir! is on a 4+

So best case you need to roll a 4+, followed by a 6, followed by them failing LOS. That's roughly 1/6 chance to kill what you want with all four shots.

They just need to make sniper rifles pinning again.

And if your opponent makes the LoS roll then you are probably killing that guy instead - things still going to get dead.
IMO he is good enough to play in 30k where people generally aren't min-maxing their lists - if you are more going for a best in slot mentality then probably avoid him.

That's fine, I like exodus as a mini-Vindicare, just disputing the claim that he is some sort of murderer of characters. He is not because the rules do not allow for it. I'm not pushing for best-in-slot, I'm just sad his friends got nerfed and he can't even join them in their transport.

So another option has occurred to me which has also gone up in a list I posted, but what about taking exodus in a shattered legion force with a unit of raven guard mor deythans? Does that seem like a good, viable or fluffy choice?

Edit: I forgot that exodus can only join headhunter kill teams and recon squads. Back to the drawing board then.

Tried him out in my headhunter kill team over the weekend. Didn't do much special this time - didn't get many/any rends I don't think in like 3 rounds of shooting which was a bit of a shame.
