Im entering a tournament in a month at a FLGS. It is a fairly competitive meta so I dont feel bad bringing War Convocation. How viable will it be at that point level? It seems like I will be lacking in a lot of areas when I have to take units that are so small. Its ITC rules also btw.

As far as I remember, the basic War Convocation with IK Crusader was 1470 pts. You'd better check it though.

I think 1650 WC would be pretty competitive even for a tourney.

Do you have to pay for the Crusader upgrades? I have a warden and was planning on using him. Im just worried about 1 5 man squad of rangers, 1 5 man squad of vanguard and 1 dragoon.

You do pay for the Crusader's base cost but not the upgrades (carapace weapons, melt gun, cannon). Looking at my Battlescribe, you could definitely get a WarCon with Crusader in at 1650.

I ran a list today with a Librarius Conclave and a Warden. I played my SM gladius friend who we were testing against. It was a close game but I think the force multiplier of the psychic powers is better than the battle cannon. Plus the D reaper sword is awesome.
