I am playing in a tourmanet at my LFGS. Its a super competative meta and I am going to bring war convocation. Were playing ITC missions and FAQ. For some reason its 1650 not 1850 but I think its a time constraint. I have never played in ultra competative tourney and I want a good showing. This is what I came up with now that drop skitarii are not playable anymore. I play tested it today vs gladius and it did really well. Thoughts?

Sorry for not counting the points out, but I would strongly recommend taking two knights if possible, even if it's 2 errants. It's amazing for the War Convo, giving us a ton of forward pressure, two models that are very hard to remove (something the war convo is lacking in), and a giant F U to any of the popular deathstars out there currently.

At this point level there is no way I can take war convo and two knights. Although it would be nice to stomp some of those

Well, taking a culexus assassin would be my fall back then, especially if you can get him in a rhino or some type of transport. That guy is pretty game changing. You could just infiltrate him and take a full squad of vanguard (might be at the expense of a dragoon). Are you taking taser lances on the dragoons? If so adding more of them is always a good idea. They don't get the love they deserve in my opinion. With 3 or more you have a very real threat that has a 2+ cover save out in the open with your canticles going, i6, str 8, extra hits on 6s, and have a threat range of 24 inches.

I guess what i'm getting at is trying to patch our lack of psychic phase with a single conclave doesn't work as well as you'd hope.

Culexus got nerfed; aura doesn't extend out of vehicles anymore.

Is the Librarian Conclave that bad when its bare bones? I feel 3 chances for invisibility is pretty good and they will get it off. Attach them to a squad of Kataphrons for some durability and they are good? Any other options for that last bit of points? I could add more kataphrons but I dont have the models.

When did that happen?

The new FAQ (still a draft, but they've made it pretty clear that the actual answers are unlikely to change.) It states that, unless specifically stated, aura effects (such as the culexus) don't have an effect if they are embarked in a vehicle because they are not technically on the board. Also, you can't start the game embarked on an allied transport, so no Drop Podding them either.

It's not bad persay, it's just it doesn't synergize well with us. You would get very few dice, and against the armies you would really specifically want those powers against, well they are typically going to have a lot more dice to cancel you. From my experience instead of getting some psychic powers, it's just better to shut them down via assassin or more firepower.
