Subject: Newb-ish player, going to first tournament. What can I expect?

Been playing for a little over a month, decided I wanted to jump in the deep end and try competitive tournament play.
The only ships I've got at my disposal are 3x Interceptors, 3x FO TIEs, 1x TIE Advance, 1x Adv. Prototype. No shuttle available to me, so I can't take a Palp-mobile.
Decided I wanted to try a triple Imp Ace list, so I'm going to try this out-
• Darth Vader + Adaptability + Engine Upgrade + Adv. Targeting Computer + TIE/x1
• Soontir Fel + Push The Limit + Autothrusters + Targeting Computer + Royal Guard TIE
• The Inquisitor + Push The Limit + Autothrusters + TIE/v1
Comes to 99 points.
I don't have much experience against "tournament lists" so I don't really know what to expect, and even less idea of how to play against it.
Tactics suggestions, particularly in regards to how to best place obstacles/who to set up with who, where, and against what (which two go on one side together and who goes by themselves on the other)/opening moves/etc. all very much welcome.

It's a good list. Nothing will ever be perfect and sometimes you'll come up against people who know how to handle your list, you just have to change your tactics.
Good luck, and don't feel bad if you're near the bottom. I've been playing since last summer, many games a week, and I still hang out near the end the bottom.

Yeah, I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I'm not going to be placing anywhere decent, but I'm still hoping to get a heads up for what to expect/how to play against it so I'll be at least slightly less of a pushover.

From what I've seen at the two events I went, the meta is in flux at the moment, so you can see a lot of different things right now, from swarms, triple U-boats, brobots, 4 TLTs. What you need to do is be sure about your strategies, go in with a plan, know what opening moves you can go with to dictate engagements you want to be fighting... and hope your dice are hot.

Okay, so,
Opening moves.
What do?
(also, who should go with who?)

It'll really depend on what you're up against. You're not relying on synergy, though, so I wouldn't try to fly in formation, as that will telegraph your opponent where your aces are going to be.
The only thing I can say for certain, because your ships are, overall, very squishy, is this: When given the chance to "fire and hope you destroy your opponent before he returns fire" and just deny him the shot and line yours up at a later time, choose the latter. The best green dice are those you don't need to roll.
This dude on Tumblr (Treatise on Starfighter Tactics) has a rule of length and engagement ranges of ships, where you can force your opponent to fight on your own terms if he is oblivious and you make careful moves and it is sound thinking, if only very theoretical. He calls it the rule of 11.
