Basically would they be amongst the dreadnoughts of a standard company contingent of dreadnoughts (presumably the first company's dreadnoughts if they are) or are they part of the Headquarters staff in the Linrarious with their living brothers?

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

IIRC dreadnoughts are considered dead, they lose their former rank and station.

The chapter might consult with them or show respect, but command still falls to the living.

I don't know about the current Blood Angel codex, but the previous one had them listed under the Librarius in the chapter organisation chart.

My Blood Angels Codex lists Librarian Dreads under the Librarium instead of part of a company like the Furiosos (1st Co) or regular dreads. And interesting enough they're HQ choices now - they are clearheaded enough to lead a force if needed.

Remember, the standard Codex chapter organization is (even amongst chapters like the Ultramarines etc.) a bit of a loose model. Outside of the nominal 1000 marine standard there are a large number of additional marines/units surrounding the chapter's operations.
