I have a game coming up against nurgle daemons. It's a friendly game, but we like to beat the hell out of each other. We're both building new armies. He's gone to nurgle daemons (from tau) and I've gone to Ravenwing (from eldar) in an attempt to challenge ourselves. His list will resemble something like this: Daemon prince, wings and armour, 2 greaters and ML3, herald, ML2 with bell and the locus that gives FnP, 18 plague bearers, 2x 3 nurglings, and 5 plague drones with rot something.

I'm thinking about this:

Ravenwing strike force

HQ: Libby, Lvl 2, auspex, bike.
HQ: Libby, Lvl 2, auspex, bike, force axe.

Elites: Ravenwing command squad, 6x Knights, Ravenwing banner, apothecary and champion.

Fast attack: Ravenwing bike squad, 2x plasma guns, veteran sgt upgrade
Fast attack: Ravenwing attack bike, multi melta
Fast attack: Ravenwing Land speeder, TML
Fast attack: Ravenwing Dark shroud

Assassin detachment
Vindicare assassin.

It's 1k on the nose. And basically includes everything I own so far. How do you think it'll fair?

There's almost no reason not to take Gravguns instead of plasma on the RW bike squad, unless you physically don't have the parts.

Aside from that, looks good. Guessing you'll be hunting for Perfect Timing with the librarians?

Although I agree about grav, I got kind of lucky. I wrote my list before I saw his, and his daemon army doesn't really have armour. So grav becomes pretty poor.

I also think he may be replying very heavily on a swooping daemon prince with psychic shriek, so I'm thinking about squeezing a culexus in as well.

And yeah, I think divination on one is a must. Maybe the librarius discipline for the other.

Imho, it may be worth considering taking a few conversion field (that 4++ and causing blinding check equipment) if you can, inv save is important for you, as Daemons have easy access to AP2 weapons. While the blinding could be potentially favour you as Nurgle are mostly I3, except those monsters.
I think Dark shroud might not be important in this match up, Nurgle Daemons don't have great shooting, while their witch fire psychic power are mostly Ignore cover anyway. So maybe change it into 2nd TML Landspeeder? Or anything with great firepower.

Yeah, I've been thinking about dropping the dark shroud and a single black knight for a culexus. I think the two assassins could do some real work on his daemons.

Demons are a v rough matchup for Ravenwing.

Whats a culexus? I am not familiar with that.

Culexus is the anti psyker assassin. They have some unbelievable rules. And considering he's going to be relying on shrieking my units it could be worth it.
