I've had a difficult time against different flyers flying into the battlefield in the last couple of games I've played. I wonder what methods/anti-air Necrons have to deal with this nuisance?

Today I have a simple army of maybe around 1850pts, with one Night Scythe/Doom Scythe. That one doesn't keep itself alive for long though as it has been shot down in the same turn as it flyes in, but during opponent's turn of course. I'm still kinda new to flyers in 40k as I've started playing again since last time that was around 4th edition. And with the new Death from the Skies supplement I'm afraid we're soon jumping into a new 40k era with flyers at its peak.

What would you recommend? More flyers? Getting a sentry pylon/pylon maybe?

Between

More croissants!

Some globe stands would be good too.

Ignore them. Really I have jet to see any flier making its points back by shooting at necron infantry.

Inactive, user. New profile might pop up in a while

Hehe aye, will probably get myself a Night Croissant, because one is probably not enough either way

Then you're in luck, I've had hell with flyers in my last two games maybe, they even blew my Overlord off the map surprisingly.
But hope you're right and that my misfortune was only one point of luck

Speaking as a vulture user ( teehee, 20 twin linked + 3 ap 4 s5 shots for 155) Flyers are quite a cost effective way of dealing with the conventional necron phalanx, since it's a mere 3% chance per shot of getting any hits back against warriors. I wouldn't discount them so easily. Beyhond forgeworld, flyers and especially transport flyers are a serious problem for necrons strategically, as they capitalise on necron's (baisc) limited mobility. To say nothing of airdropping an iron clad from a storm raven.

As such your options are basically the same as everybody else - ADL/Bastion + quad gun or icarus lascannon. Bonus points if you use scarabs to fire them.

Given the superabundance of green tubez you can probably scratch build one on the cheap, since an icarus lascannon is basically the same as a heavy destroyer's gun. A 'stationary' monolith would do duty as a bastion quite well too.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

"ADL/Bastion + quad gun or icarus lascannon"
Interesting option, haven't seen that much in the "fortress/building"-front and is therefore new to me. Where can I find rules for those so I get some more reading on it?

Either going for that then or going for FW material and get a Sentry Pylon with Gauss Exterminator and blast those flyers off the skies.

It's in Stronghold Assault, or, The Book of Model Playsets. Nobody likes them after the filth of the void shield generator stole the show, so you can get a good discount on ebay for it.The building rules are obsolete, but the units themselves are still valid, and can be taken by any faction in a CAD fortification slot.

Point of note - don't be tempted by the *quad* icarus lascannon, tl bs2 skyfire isn't worth it, and the price for bs3 is punishing.

The 'Imperial' Strongpoint may be the way to go, as it allows you to take multiple bastions and ADLs in a single unit choice (also the skyshield which is fuuuuun). Two sky fire guns and an armour 14 building immune to grav might make you very happy

The bastion can also take a void shield, or an upgrade which allows embarked models to reroll 1s to hit. You can *also* get access to Tank Traps which are 6 inch sections of impassable terrain for vehicles, which means you can Just Say No to Knights.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

Hull

Seriously ignore them.
Pay them no heed and show them the disdain you have for their pathetic flying machines.
