This is a minor proposal, just because it was a topic that got brought up awhile ago and I was interested by it.

Aun'Shi gets left home, as he costs more than 2 Ethereals (and costs more than Aun'Va), and in exchange he gets? A 4++ and a funky war dance. He's a challenge character (and not even a good one at that!) in an army not built for challenges.

The lazy fix? Give him Zealot, and replace his stances with War Hymns (the Battle Priest ability that is), renamed from something less Emperor-ish and more Greater Good-ish.

He gets his save rerolls in close combat (and not just challenges), as well as conferring them to the rest of his unit (which could be "just enough" to Hit and Run out of there!). He offers to-wound bonuses, for when that matters, and Smash is seldom not useful.

Super-competitive? Probably not. More in line with his point cost, without it being overcomplicated? Seems ok to me.

Let me know your thoughts.

Heck, I'd think about it, if I were running a giant pile of Fire Warriors.

He still probably wouldn't edge out Shadowsun, or a generic battlesuit commander, but he'd go from "uh, why?" to "OK, maybe. He's interesting, leastwise!"
