My AdMech collection is rapidly growing from beeing allies for my other armies to being an army for them selves.

I am rapidly approaching the point where the war convocation can be fielded. We usually play 1500 points in our gaming-group, with 4 players, so we get 2 x3000 points lists.

The war convo barely fits in, it's just some things i might want a second (or third) opinion on.

The list will include:
- Techpries Dominus
- 10 Vanguard (all Plasma)
- 5 Ranger (arkebus) < maybe try 'em with 2x plasma? Still got some models left...
- 2 Dunecrawler (anti-air)
- 5 Infiltrators
- 5 Ruststalkers
- Knight Gallant

still required are:
- Ironstrider
- Kataphron

The reason I go with the knight gallant is because 1) I like it when that huge explosion when the knight gets killed isnt harming myself but my opponent, 2) it's cheaper points-wise. Two AA-Crawlers are included because flyrants are pretty popular here, and another player has a DE-army which has a lot of skimmers (which as far i know can be targeted without full BS).

The problem is, I really like the Kataphron with their 6 shot grav-cannons, and I wanted to take the Ironstrider with Lascannon, mainly because I think that you have to field 3+ of 'em to make 'em shine. I just can't squeeze in 6 Kataphron destroyers and that Ironstrider, without losing my second Dunecrawler.

What to do? Take 3 destroyers, 3 breachers (although I dont like that torision cannon); or take a single Dragoon instead of the ranged Ironstrider? Is a single Dragoon worth it in 3k games ?

Pls share your opinion, so I can get the last few models battle-ready

Destroyers are better than breachers.

You don't need the second dunestrider.

If you only have one ironstrider, he's probably better off as a balistarii running around with a lascannon. But try magnetizing, because you'll want units of three or so Dragoons in bigger games.

Thank you for the advice.

I tinkered a little bit with my list. I now use only one crawler, which gave me enough points back to upgrade my breachers to destroyers, and I still have enough points for 3 Dragoons. The list will be like that:

The Dakka-Part:
10 Vanguard
5 Rangers
1 Dunecrawler Anti-Air
1 Techpriest
2x 3 Destroyers

The Choppy-Part:
1 Knight Gallant
3 Dragoons
5 Ruststalkers
5 Infiltrators

... looks pretty solid to me (at least on paper )

Is it useful to equip the knight with that anti-air gun then? If all goes well he will be in CC anyways, so he could use the first round for skyfire. Also would you prefer 6x grav-destroyers, or 3x grav and 3x plasma?

I mainly play agains tyranids pretty often, and also dark eldar, necrons, space wolves.
