Hi

I am new to space marines, I was/am a nid player.

I have started a salamander force for something different based on what I know about them I like the fluff.

There is so much info out there for space marines I don't know where to start in finding out more about the chapter.

Can anyone point me in the direction of any books, novels that are good reads about the salamanders.

Thanks

They have a book series by Nick Kyme. Its pretty good.

"Surrender and Die."

"To an Immortal, to one among a legion, honor and your word are all that matter" - Phaeron Orionis of the Brotherhood

I agree with Pariah, the Salamanders books are probably the best place to start.
Sadly, there are also just about the only books written about the salamanders in the 41st millennium, so you don't get a second option on some of the more iffy bits. As long as you know enough about the general lore to not get swept away by some of the more improbable things, you'll enjoy it. I certainly did.

Otherwise, they have a few heresy books about the salamanders. Sadly, those are also controversial with a few odd points.

Thanks both. Will check out that book series, suppose you can remember what it's called?

I'd start with the heresy books. "Promethean Sun", "Vulkan Lives" and "Deathfire". If you like Salamanders, you'll be set. Otherwise I'd avoid them, since they're not very good in my opinion.

After that check out the "Tome of Fire" series. It's set in the 41 millenium, like the guys said. Kyme is also working on a new series, set right after the first trilogy. First book was called "Salamanders: Rebirth". It's pretty good.

Lexicanum has good information in a quick background format. Just to give you a overview of the chapter. You can then read the books to fill in the gaps.
