Hey, today I just brought 30 gargoyles! That was maximum brood for gargoyles brood or three minimum broods
It will be my first time.
According to codex, blind venom can be use in close combat.. I can use just few blind venom and the rest use melee just after blind venom effect in same assault phase?
Because it is nice supporters for warrior and prime ( and other high WS creature )
WS of 1 vs WS 5 is a bullying..
Hive Vanguard seem good formation that allow gargoyles to fly farther than it normal do.
Did I read it correct? gargoyles Can deep strike in same move phase?
So many questions for my first timer with gargoyles.. Heh

You use goyles a few ways
1) DS for grabing Objecs or not to get shot up turn 1
2) Fast moving Gants (they are cheap can Screen other fast moving units)
3) Grabbing Objectives
They are just fast moving Gants.

I am not a tyranid player but play against them regularly. I find them most effective gearing for assault against my elder (or orks for that matter) they can be a pain, The guy I play against runs 2 cads and 4 units of 10 each (possibly 12 but I think 10)

The skytyrant formation is pretty fun. Two units of gargoyles attached to a hive tyrant.
Load up the tyrant with close combat upgrades, and the gargoyles do a good job of delivering him there unharmed.

I personally dont like this formation for 3 reasons
1) Tyrant can not leave them
2) Tyrant is slowed down by them
3) Tyrant cant Swoop

First off, Id reccomend looking at the massive Tyranid tactics thread further down the page, it has unit reviews and lots of useful tips. But, here are my thoughts/experience with using them:
They are cheap and fast, keep them cheap. None of the gargoyle upgrades are worth it because of how fragile they are. Poison good in assault? Not as good as having more bodies to ensure you get there. Use them as the vanguard of your army, lined up in front and moving straight forward. But leave a few in a trail next to a Venomthrope to give them shrouded. Meanwhile, they provide cover to all units behind them, and are fast enoughg to keep up with anything else in your army. Use them to provide cover, draw fire, and tarpit shooty enemy units. Or, tarpit low-attack enemy CC units (like MCs) using blind and fearless. Remember that you can only force one blind attack, so on the charge don't use blinding venom with every guy, just 3-4 to ensure a hit. They are fast, cheap, and disposable. Use them as such. Be aware that they can be mowed down quickly if your enemy concentrates on them so I wouldn't rely on their survival, but if your opponent shoots them he's not shooting other things. My final recommendation is to take a look at the sky light formation. It's not a bad way to run then and can be very effective!

A shooty tyrant certainly doesn't want to be in this formation, but a close combat one doesn't mind not being able to swoop. I ran it in a local tournament a few months ago, and did quite well. It's a lot of wounds to take out before they get to the tyrant. I was easily able to get my reaper of obliterax + old adversary tyrant into the enemies lines, and start smashing apart riptides and wraithknights. (S7 + re-rolls to wound, and instant death on a 6. Pretty decent chances of rolling 6's)

Skytyrant sound not bad depends on what it wargear and how big map are.
Small map with enough cover suit Skytyrant because in turn two it can reach for assault... If they all survive.
While bigger map... well...
Grab the objective- aye! Deep strike Ripper swarm can do that job... But over the enemy line would be nice.
But what about Hive Vanguard formation?
Because it is nice to able deep strike in turn one, at the enemy line to get first blood. Then tarpit in next game turn and eating bullet if I go second while bigger class footslogger ( not flyrant, bigger one)
