Hello Everyone,

I come from and have returned to a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada.

I've been an unknowing fan of 40k since I was a preteen camping with the family and the parents gave us a box of 'models' to put together. At the time I had no idea I was putting together some Dark Eldar Kabalite Warriors, simply the enjoyment of these cool looking 'models.' A few years later I was introduced to a computer game that still brings nostalgia: Chaos Gate. I fell in love with the universe, music, imagery and idea of it all except I did not draw a connection to the miniature game. It wasn't until I went into my local hobby store that I found Space Marine Terminators, with a sun bleached box sitting on the shelf, that the pieces fit together. I bought that box a few weeks later and since then the 40k world in my collection has slowly grown.

About 2 years ago I finally played the table top game with a co-worker (we both bought 750 point armies) and sought out others in the area to pull together a small community.

Necrons, the soulless creatures I grew fond of, are the race I mainly play. I now probably have a 2000 point army mainly of the Non-insect servants. I normally run a 1500 Phalanx Army of 2 squads of Warriors(10), 1 immortals (10), 1 deathmark(10), 2 Ghost Arks, 3 Destroyers, 1-2 Annihilation Barge, a Lord, maybe a cryptek and filler with scarabs.

I also have a starting force of Dark Angels, Chaos Space Marines and Tyranids.

My community has mostly Orks (three of them) who are the most frequent available players. There's a Chaos Space Marine player and a Tyranid player here as well that sometimes play. I've heard there are others but they barely come by our Book/Boardgame store.

I have joined this forum in hopes to finding ways to expand my community of 40k players. I am about to run a learning session at my boardgame/book store next month as a way to do this. I have been planning a scenario with Lore to help fluff up the reasoning to getting from point A to B/C/D and attacking the enemy team. I can make another post somewhere with details I've been setting up (more than willing to make changes and listen to ideas).

Greetings,

Welcome to Dakka
