My nids just got to licking their wound after hell storm of missile from Manticore and whirlwind... Wipe out my child of cryptic and their gene-stealer plus heavy number of hornsgants.. Thank to dice god it's a tie due to objective capture that score me a VP... But I imagine if dice God favour in him I'll be tabled!

Anyone know the tactic against that bloodying cowardly tank?

Kill them with flyrants?

Unfortunately, swarm-style tyranids just suck. A whirlwind would indeed be bad news for you. Hormagaunts and Genestealers are really not great :(

Big bugs would definitely help... and Flyrants, which pretty much prop up the rest of a really weak codex.

Yeah I know... I have that trouble.

Only good options is Crone and Flytrant deployment as glide at starting the game then switch to swooping mode in my move phase and hopefully can damage it using str 8 vector strike and use up Haywire spore to damage it then if it survives use toxicrene to finish it off.. Way too open to the rest of enemy aircraft...

If I do that, all of my minion just yell out "Hello! I am here!" At shooting unit... Too large for cover.. Heh

I think I know how to tactic.

Put most of FMC deployment at first turn.. Out of LOS.

Then go in swooping mode... Target at that barrages weapons first... In second turn, all minion arrive from reserve. Well, most of it hopefully!

That mean I have to put most of minion in reserve.
Tyrannocyte and trygon can help with non-deepstrike large number unit and I going need swarmlord to help with reserve roll....

Then they have no target if I go first, very few hits if I go second.

I think this tactic might be good...
Because the tank is AV of 10 in rear so I'll have a good chance of glacing it to death..

Hive vanguard formation can help with that. It allow deep strike gargoyle brood in first turn, to fire at will on this weak tank and try to get 6s on rear with 30 shots.. While warrior shoot out it venom cannon on it rear if LOS is clear, swooping flyrant fire it 12 brain leech at it for 4s.. Should be stunning or good chance of wreaking in turn one before it harm our minion any further.

Sound better chance than biovore brood.. 40pts per one barrage shot or spawn 1-3 spore cluster(s) with risk of death from unit like whirlwind.
