Just got the game today
Not played it yet but the models are nicely done from what I have seen (not got round to building them yet )

Rules seem solid enough as well
But I have a question when will new stuff come out ? Not 100% sure when the game hit retail so thought would ask yes impatient is not always a bad thing

Any way here's a few questions I have
When will new models and new factions be out?
Please tell me it's staying as far away from metal minis as possible ?
When do we see a complete alien side ?
Have yous thought about making a spaceship game as well(in distant future of course) ?
When do we get to see tanks and such?
Did the shadows from b5 influence the looks of the angels ?

And lastly any one got some good paint scheme ideas?

New stuff is addressed in our recent update here:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/690151.page

We are working on a lot of stuff, but it is very slow progress working in plastic.

Our next models (the expansion sprue based ones) will be out fairly soon - we are just waiting on a few more back from the painters and finishing the unit cards and then we are ready to go with them.

We have no intention of working in metal. We might do the odd bit of resin to pad gaps in the release schedule due to how long plastic takes, but every core model, basic part, etc will be good old fashioned plastic.

A full Angel army is in the works

We have thought about making a spaceship game, and have a lot of concept art shelved for it, but there are so many good spaceship games out there now that we did not want to be yet another game in a crowded market, and more importantly are not big enough to focus on two ranges just yet, so want to make sure Maelstrom's Edge grows and improves first.

Tanks are probably a long way out as the rules are more focused around fast skirmishes, and adding tanks would force a larger table to be required. We do have rules for vehicles and smaller vehicles are pencilled in to the release schedule, but wont be for a few years yet.

The shadows from B5 did not influence them at all actually.

You can see a range of colour schemes on the Comm Guild facebook group:

and feel free to share your favourites too!

Thanks for the kind words and we hope you enjoy Maelstrom's Edge.

Can you only buy the troops and such from your site as I can't find anyone in the UK who sells anything but the game box?

Resin is not to bad just please stay away from the crap used by gw/forgeworld and mantic resin plastic

Am glad to hear the devotion to plastic and am all set to build the set I have up on my day off

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Just a point, Forge World resin is just the same resin used for other companies resin models. Mantic stuff is PVC plastic.
