Flamin' Hot Glade Guard

I like the red/orange schemes I see for autumn Wood elves, but
right now I'm not quite sure how to darken things up. For the
red cloaks I tried usinga brownish shade, and it really toned down
some of the brightness, but is it too much still or do you think it's
ok?

Glade Guard archers. I'm starting to wonder if the color scheme isn't too
bright, but it's a bit too late to worry about that now...

Yoor Speeshawl too Gawd!

They look fine. It is refreshing to see some wood elves in a non-muted tone. I was kinda hopeing they would be pink with rainbow cloaks from the link description.

Only now do I realize how much I prefer Pete Haines' "misprints" to Gav Thorpe's "brainfarts." :Abadabadoobaddon

Brown coats ! Red is far to bright, hurts my eyes or is it just the 24/7 stareing at the monitor ?

Maybe put a camouflage pattern on the back of the cloaks using the brown, yellow, and orange from the front of the model. It would break up the cloak which might "tone" it down without losing the effect.

Not really a fan of camoflage (but that might be because I haven't
painted any yet). Maybe I'll try that with a second squad (this one's
got the shiny varnish going on...)

Some interesting ideas. Thanks!

Add a matte finish to the cloaks, that would tone them down slightly, and make them look more like cloth.
