Well I dived in and got a beginner airbrush... A badger 200-3... which awkwardly enough my dad later told me he had an older version of the 200-3 himself which he would of given to me... but I digress.
I realised how fast I ran out of the 300ml of propellant. With me messing around trying to figure out the right acrylic mixture for the airbrush, figuring out how to get the right amount of pressure, I only managed to do three quarters of a Salamander Fighting Vehicle before it ran out. So I've decided to get a compressor at my fathers advice, however neither of us really know what to aim for.
I'm looking for something between £50-£80, maybe more if I can be persuaded. Also what are peoples thought on vallejo air paints?

Something like this is a good piece of hardware - it has the basics of a good airbrush compressor: a tank, regulator, and moisture trap, and if you really get serious about airbrushing, it will still be adequate to your needs.

I've got a Paasche D3000R that I really like. Lots of features for the price, not too loud, works great for what I use it for.

I had one of those Paache D3000R's for a while. They aren't bad for the price and availability. They do sometimes require re-taping to stop leaks, and some of the joints are sealed in with join sealing goo. Vallejo air paints are great air primers are really nice too, though not so much the white one. My only criticism is that the Game Air is harder to come by (not stocked in a lot of places that do stock model air); and that color matching model air to match to model color is not a happening thing. The new air metallic paints are fantastic -- much better than the old ones.

This will do you just fine..

In budget, full spec, not too loud.
Just be aware that, as with pretty much all compressors, the hose will need an adapter to fit a Badger brush, which will cost a couple of extra quid.

Thanks, I'll prob try to go with the A186, I don't mind an adaptor seeing it's only a couple of quid.
I was also looking at those Air Metallic Paints.... but I have no idea which to choose in all honesty.
